Naoki Terakawa is an architectural photographer based in Tokyo and founder of TERAKAWA Photo Office, established in 2023.
His practice is dedicated to recording architecture as it truly is — preserving the architect’s intention, the client’s vision, the craftsman’s hand, and the character of space within a single frame.
After training at Nacása & Partners, one of Japan’s established architectural photography studios, he now works independently with architects, designers, developers and institutions, specializing in completion photography, interiors, aerial photography, architectural models and visual documentation.
Rather than imposing an external style onto a building, his approach is based on careful observation: understanding light, material, proportion and atmosphere to reveal the inherent quality of architecture.
Every project is photographed, edited and completed through a single vision, creating images that serve not only as documentation, but as a lasting record of the architecture itself.
