A Natural Wine Bar Shaped by Materiality and Simplicity Taipei / 2020
“The lack of ornament is a sign of intellectual power.” — Adolf Loos, Ornament and Crime
CINCIN.XX WINE BAR is conceived around the character of natural wine—its rawness, individuality, and connection to time and place. Rather than introducing unnecessary decoration, the interior allows materials, textures, and spatial relationships to define the atmosphere.
Concrete, metal, wood, and glass are expressed with minimal intervention, preserving their inherent qualities while creating subtle contrasts between roughness and refinement. The restrained palette establishes a quiet backdrop for the wine, allowing the space to remain understated while retaining a distinct identity.
The design seeks a balance between material expression and simplicity, creating an atmosphere where wine, space, and everyday interaction coexist naturally.
