Ivry Confluences | Lambert Lénack architectes urbanistes

We designed this project to anchor it into its industrial context and to make it dialogue with the brutalist architectural legacy of the architects Jean Renaudie, Pierre Riboulet and Renée Gailhoustet. These physical and cultural contexts are the origin of our architectural research.

The base of the project contains commercial spaces and duplex apartments designed like townhouses, around a patio. On this base sits two towers.

The facades of the two towers are made of vertical elements in dialogue with the large proportions of the infrastructures around them and with the high industrial chimneys. These elements create the periphery of the buildings and define interior spaces. The apartments occupy this depth of the facades through a collection of spaces: kitchens, bathrooms, staircases or alcoves for bedrooms or living rooms. The horizontal stripes of varying heights allow different experiences of the outside spaces, and keep the vertical elements as the main architectural figure.

The highest tower opens up at the corners and offers panoramic views of the industrial landscape and the river, while the solid corners of the second tower provide stability and privacy and echo the masonry buildings of the surrounding suburban fabric.

Nous avons conçu ce projet de façon à l’ancrer dans l’héritage industriel d’Ivry-sur-Seine, tout en s’inscrivant

dans la tradition brutaliste d’innovation de l’habitat, incarnée par les architectes Jean Renaudie, Pierre Riboulet et Renée Gailhoustet. Ce contexte culturel donne lieu à une recherche typologique et architecturale originale.

Le socle du projet est composé de commerces à rez-de-chaussée et de duplex comme des maisons de villes, organisées autour d’un patio planté. Il constitue l’assise de deux émergences.

Les façades des émergences sont composées d’éléments verticaux résonnant avec les grandes proportions des infrastructures de la confluence et avec les grandes cheminées industrielles. Ces grandes piles composées en périphérie des bâtiments définissent une plastique extérieure et qualifient les espaces intérieurs. Les appartements habitent l’épaisseur de la façade à travers une collection d’espaces variés en fonction des appartements : cuisines, salles de bain, escaliers ou alcôves pour les chambres ou les séjours.

Des bandeaux horizontaux aux épaisseurs variables permettent de diversifier les expériences spatiales intérieures, et d’affirmer la primauté des piles verticales dans la composition architecturale.

La plus haute émergence s’ouvre aux angles et offre aux habitants des vues panoramiques sur le paysage du parc et de la Seine, alors que les angles pleins de la deuxième émergence assurent une forme de stabilité et d’intimité et font écho aux immeubles maçonnés du tissu faubourien avoisinant.
