The project focuses on the design of spaces for children in their most vulnerable stage of life, from 0 to 3 years, from the field of architecture linked to educational sciences. The project covers childhood from play to learning, from infancy to breastfeeding, from design to dissemination, from manual to technological. Education and learning are the arguments on which this proposal pivots, incorporating the technological layer to monitor the space and learn from it for the spatial modification of what is designed, learning from the end user, not from the initial analyses. The objective of the project is to create adaptive and evolutionary spaces for childhood. The child as a new urban parameter, understanding that “a city suitable for childhood is a city suitable for everyone”. Designing learning environments is recognizing architecture as a “third teacher” and the environment as an integral element of the educational experience. A series of specialized modules create an open-air space, rethinking the playground to turn it into a learning environment. Architecture educates, and the space that children live in during their early stages is very influential in the development of their lives. From the access door module to the three play modules, the logic of the playground is followed, all the modules enclose this naturalized playground surrounded by natural and artificial shade. All the modules are covered, there are covered crawling areas, covered slides, etc. Protecting the skin of our little ones is key to the project. Playing outdoors but protected. The space is designed for family conciliation, the modules are specialized to meet the needs of parents, with support for breastfeeding, evolutionary bathing areas, changing tables and food preparation, all designed for parents of teachers, students and staff and students of the UMA nursery school and the Faculty of Educational Sciences. A space for play and care to rethink the playgrounds in our cities.
