The property is idyllically located along the shoreline on the northern side of Portør, sheltered from the winds of the Skagerrak. A new cabin is constructed  in the same footprint as a previous cabin.
The building volume adapts to the area's cabin character in terms of height, roof pitch, ridge direction, colors, and materials.

The cabin is elevated 2,5 meters above high water level to avoid spring tides. The cabin is also setback from the sea to make the cabin even more subdued, as it is placed between two rocky outcrops, nestled against a rising field at the back.

To reduce the cabin's visual presence from the sea and a public path along the water, the building volume has been extended in the back, where the more private rooms are barely visible from the sea..
The cabin appears as two small volumes, each with its own gable roof and an open atrium between them. Hidden from the sea, the southwest-facing atrium offers an outdoor space sheltered from both wind and sun. This outdoor area connects to the existing rocky shore, which has been cleared for access.

The two volumes are connected by a third, which includes the entrance and the kitchen. The northwest-facing volume, facing the water, houses the living and dining rooms, while the bedrooms, bathroom, and a loft for storage are located at the opposite end. By using two gable roofs, the cabin's roof pitch is similar to existing cabins, without the ridge height becoming too dominant.

The cabin is made of red-painted vertical timber cladding, red-brown roof tiles, and a concrete base that blends naturally with the surrounding rock. Inside, light grey plaster is used on the lower part of the walls, harmonizing with the external cladding. The walls and ceilings are clad in panels made of ash to create a light atmosphere which harmonizes with the summer vibe.
