Casa Euforia | Punto Zero

In the Trieste district of Rome, within an early 20th-century building, Punto Zero has reinterpreted the spaces of a penthouse where the historical spirit merges with a new, more intense and colorful character, striking a balance between tradition and contemporaneity. 

Respecting the integrity of the original layout, characterized by a central corridor distributing the rooms, the project preserves its spatial organization while subtly redefining its perception. The intervention focuses on expanding the living area through precise, strategic modifications, enhancing the material atmospheres and color schemes to create a sophisticated yet dynamic environment. 

The sugar-paper blue fluted boiserie, chosen to define the corridor, traces a path that opens onto a small home office nook before leading to the terrace, introduced by a large French door. 

This blue boiserie then extends into the grand living room, created by merging three rooms, establishing a spacious and elegant reception area, as requested by the clients. 

"We envisioned the boiserie both as a chromatic element, where walnut wood integrates with the colored panels, and as a sculptural feature that bends to create an entrance at the corridor’s center, acting as both a partition and a filter, connecting the kitchen," explain the architects. 

Particular attention was given to the flooring: the original terrazzo tiles were carefully restored and repositioned like inlaid "rugs" to highlight the lounge and dining areas. 

"Working on the flooring was technically stimulating. In the rooms where the original terrazzo inlay was missing, we created delicate mosaic borders to frame specific colors for each space. To achieve this, we used the ancient semina technique, where marble and mother-of-pearl fragments are hand-scattered and set into the surface," the designers illustrate. 

The boiserie returns in the bedroom, shaping the walk-in closet, which also serves as a partition for the en-suite bathroom. 

Custom-designed by Punto Zero, the bathroom furnishings are exquisite marble pieces: in the master bathroom, a lightweight metal structure is enhanced by cipollino verde marble surfaces, while in the guest bathroom, a single block of onyx has been sculpted into a freestanding bathtub with an integrated concealed drawer. The vanity seamlessly blends into a mirrored wall, enhancing the space. 

Throughout the home, carefully curated design pieces punctuate the rooms, reflecting the owners' deep appreciation for both contemporary design and historically rich atmospheres.

Nel quartiere Trieste a Roma, in un palazzo dei primi del ‘900, Punto Zero ha reinterpretato gli spazi di un attico, dove lo spirito storico si fonde con il nuovo carattere, più intenso e colorato, in un equilibrio tra tradizione e contemporaneità. 

L’impianto originale dell’appartamento, con corridoio distributivo e camere affacciate, è stato mantenuto; il progetto ha previsto l’ampliamento della zona giorno, o intervenendo su alcuni ambiti precisi, lavorando sull’atmosfera materica e le cromie. 

La boiserie grissinata color carta da zucchero scelta per definire il corridoio, traccia il percorso che si apre su un piccolo angolo dedicato all’home office, per approdare al terrazzo, introdotto da un’ampia porta-finestra. 

La boiserie azzurra entra poi nel grande salone, nato dall’unione di tre stanze, così da creare un grande spazio di rappresentanza, come richiesto dalla committenza. 

“Abbiamo interpretato la boiserie sia come elemento cromatico - l’essenza noce si innesta in quella a colore - sia plastico, che piegandosi crea spazio per l'ingresso al centro del corridoio e diventa diaframma e filtro, connettendo la cucina”. 

Al pavimento è stata riservata un’attenzione particolare: le graniglie originali, recuperate, sono state riposizionate a modo di tappeti di piastrelle, così da sottolineare le aree lounge e la zona pranzo. 

“ Il lavoro al pavimento è stato tecnicamente stimolante, e negli ambienti in cui non era presente il tappeto in graniglia originario, abbiamo realizzato cornici (filarino in mosaico) dove inserire uno specifico colore per ciascun ambiente. Per farlo, abbiamo utilizzato l’antica tecnica della semina, ovvero la distribuzione dei frammenti di marmo eseguita spargendo a mano marmo e madreperla” illustrano i progettisti. 

In camera da letto torna la boiserie per la cabina armadio, la cui scocca funge da separè con la zona bagno. 

Gli arredi del bagno, customizzati su disegno di Punto Zero, sono gioielli in marmo : nel padronale una struttura in metallo molto leggera impreziosita da piani in marmo cipollino verde; nel bagno ospiti, da un unico blocco di marmo onice è stato realizzata la vasca e un cassettone a scomparsa. Il mobile è integrato con una parete specchiante. 

Gli oggetti d’autore che punteggiano stanze e angoli della casa, raccontano l’amore per il design e le atmosfere cariche di storia dei proprietari.
