From an architect’s perspective, a key innovative aspect of the project is the integration of the staircase and accessibility ramp into the building as an expressive urban installation. Rather than being merely functional elements, these features become a symbolic and sculptural addition to the cityscape, fostering interaction and social engagement. The staircase is designed not only for movement but also as a place for gathering and contemplation, transforming the simple act of ascending and descending into a performative experience. Additionally, the ramp integrated into the staircase ensures accessibility for people with disabilities, representing a significant architectural gesture that goes beyond mere functionality to actively overcome physical barriers. This dynamic element reflects the essence of Brera’s vibrant public life, where architecture merges with the flow of the city.

The new restaurant Vesta takes its name from the Roman pagan temple that once stood where the Church of San Carpoforo is now located. This choice stems from the project's desire to engage and interest the city in the history of the Church of San Carpoforo, which the project aims to enhance through the redevelopment of external spaces such as the entrance and the outdoor area.
The primary goal of the project has been to add value to this space and return it to the city by integrating it with the surrounding context. This is achieved through the insertion of a staircase and a ramp for disabled access, which penetrates the building and transforms into an installation and piazza for the city.
The expressive potential of the staircase turns it into a symbol of attraction, gathering, and interaction—an iconic representation of movement and pause. The simple act of people moving becomes a stage for everyday life, embodying the essence of Brera. In the outdoor area, light plays the leading role. Skylights have been opened to enhance the urban and luminous character of this transitional space between the city and the restaurant.
Upon entering through the sliding door, guests find themselves in the main dining room, marked by a white fan-shaped ceiling with mirrored panels interspersed with brass inserts. The armchairs and benches have been custom-designed for the project and are upholstered in velvet.
On the lower floor, the depth of the space is enhanced by a series of arches, repeated in a play of mirrors and reflections that emphasize the structure while integrating the building’s systems. The bar counter becomes the focal point of this room, featuring a liquid metal finish and an eccentric shape.
The materials that define the interiors include ebony, travertine, brass, and mirrors. Geometric shapes such as portholes and V-shaped edges evoke a marine atmosphere, forming the backdrop for this seafood restaurant in the heart of the city. Even in the restrooms, colors and shapes create unexpected and unique spaces.
