Casa Hostes | Mykonos Architects
Milos / Greece / 2024
This project, located on the island of Milos, embodies a harmonious blend between contemporary architecture and the natural environment. The design prioritizes sustainability and respect for the surroundings, as seen in the use of local materials and the preservation of the island's unique landscape. The stone used in the construction is sourced directly from the land, excavated from the site itself, creating a deep connection between the house and the land it stands on. The choice of cement plaster and wood draws from traditional Cycladic architecture, while offering a modern reinterpretation that suits the current needs and aesthetic preferences of the family.
The home is designed as a vacation residence for a beloved family, aiming to provide an intimate, comfortable space where cherished moments can unfold. Every decision made during the design process was influenced by the family’s desires for a retreat that would evoke feelings of warmth, relaxation, and connection. This project showcases how our ideas are always tailored to the specific wishes of our clients, creating a beautiful and creative journey as we bring their vision of the perfect home to life. The result is a unique, personal dwelling that respects its environment while offering modern comforts.
