In the Masovian countryside, surrounded by forest, a wooden modern cottage house was built – an interpretation of a place of rest for the whole family. The intensely red house hides a cozy pine interior, filled with vintage furniture and design icons. The strawberry color refers to the old colorful rural houses from Brok – a town located an hour and a half drive from Warsaw. This juicy shade perfectly harmonizes with the greenery of the forest, which is its natural background. The shape of the house was modeled on a building that originally stood on an inherited plot, and the completely wooden structure brings to mind summer cottages from years ago. A year-round relaxation space for the family was created here – for us and two children. The house on the ground floor has about 59 m², and the mezzanine with bedrooms an additional 27 m².Designing began from the inside – the layout of the rooms and the placement of windows were key. Therefore, each window in the house is different and shows a different frame of nature, freely connecting the interior with the surroundings.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms, a large living room with a dining area and kitchen, and a bathroom in a uniform terracotta color, referring to the color of the facade. On the first floor, an open mezzanine with a raised area for mattresses was designed, where a larger number of guests can easily stay overnight. The mezzanine is accessed by unusual duck stairs, which were designed in the form of overlapping red cubes. They create a border between the floors, take up less space than classic stairs, and from the other side serve as shelves in a closed storage compartment. Several clever solutions, important in small interiors, were used here – for example, the ground-floor bedrooms are raised, and the step leading to them functions as a low seat for guests in the living room. The house is built in traditional wooden technology.

For comfort, app-controlled heating and a fireplace for additional warmth were installed. The aim was to preserve the rural atmosphere of the house, but add a modern character to it – hence the minimalist shape, hidden gutters, and uniform color of the roof, windows, and facade. Next to the house, there is a red sauna that matches the whole and a modern pergola, under which you can spend time outdoors. Thanks to this, despite the intense color, the house looks as if it has grown out of the surrounding landscape. The interior is a combination of beloved vintage furniture and new elements. Among the objects with history is a twenty-year-old Tylosand sofa bed from IKEA with Bauhaus-style chrome details, 4500 wooden chairs by Dietiker, and armchairs from the Polish company ERA. The vintage style is broken by an Aurora aluminum lamp from the Polish brand Hasik Design, resembling the figure of a saint from a roadside chapel – a motif strongly rooted in the landscape of the Polish countryside. All these elements make the house seem as if it has been here forever – it combines modernity with the need to be close to nature.

Na mazowieckiej wsi, w otoczeniu lasu, zbudowano drewniany modern cottage house –
interpretację miejsca wypoczynku dla całej rodziny. Intensywnie czerwony dom kryje przytulne sosnowe wnętrze, wypełnione meblami vintage i ikonami designu. Barwa poziomek nawiązuje do starych kolorowych wiejskich domów z Broku – miejscowości oddalonej o półtorej godziny jazdy od Warszawy. Ten soczysty odcień doskonale współgra z zielenią lasu, stanowiącą jego naturalne tło.

Bryłę domu odwzorowano na budynku, który pierwotnie stał na odziedziczonej działce, a całkowicie drewniana konstrukcja przywodzi na myśl letniskowe domki z dawnych lat. Stworzono tu przestrzeń całorocznego relaksu dla rodziny – dla nas i dwójki dzieci. Dom na parterze ma około 59 m², a antresola z sypialniami dodatkowe 27 m². Projektowanie zaczęto od środka – kluczowy był układ pomieszczeń i rozmieszczenie okien. Dlatego każde okno w domu jest inne i pokazuje inny kadr natury, swobodnie łącząc wnętrze z otoczeniem. Na dole znajdują się dwie sypialnie, duży salon z jadalnią i kuchnią oraz łazienka w jednolitej kolorystyce terakoty, nawiązującej do koloru elewacji. Na piętrze zaprojektowano otwartą antresolę z podwyższeniem na materace, gdzie z łatwością może przenocować większa liczba gości. Na antresolę prowadzą nietypowe kacze schody, które zaprojektowano w formie nakładających się czerwonych kubików.

Tworzą one granicę między piętrami, zajmują mniej miejsca niż klasyczne schody, a od drugiej strony służą jako półki w zamkniętym schowku. Zastosowano tu kilka sprytnych rozwiązań, istotnych w małych wnętrzach – na przykład parterowe sypialnie są na podwyższeniu, a stopień prowadzący do nich pełni funkcję niskiego siedziska dla gości w salonie. Dom zbudowany jest w tradycyjnej technologii drewnianej. Dla komfortu zamontowano ogrzewanie sterowane aplikacją i kominek dla dodatkowego ciepła. Chciano zachować wiejski klimat domu, ale dodać mu nowoczesnego charakteru – stąd minimalistyczna bryła, ukryte rynny i jednolita kolorystyka dachu, okien i elewacji.

Obok domu znajdują się pasująca do całości czerwona sauna i nowoczesna pergola, pod którą można spędzać czas na świeżym powietrzu. Dzięki temu, mimo intensywnego koloru, dom wygląda jakby wyrósł z otaczającego krajobrazu. Wnętrze to połączenie ukochanych mebli vintage i nowych elementów. Wśród obiektów z historią jest dwudziestoletnia rozkładana sofa Tylosand z IKEA z chromowanymi detalami w stylu bauhaus, drewniane krzesła 4500 marki Dietiker i fotele polskiej firmy ERA. Styl vintage przełamuje aluminiowa lampa Aurora od polskiej marki Hasik Design, przypominająca postać świętego z przydrożnej kapliczki – motywu silnie zakorzenionego w krajobrazie polskiej wsi. Wszystkie te elementy sprawiają, że dom sprawia wrażenie, jakby był tu od zawsze – łączy nowoczesność z potrzebą bycia blisko natury.
