Simplicity in the design and constructional logic are the pillars on which this architectural work is based, with a clear spirit of resolving the programmatic problems in the most rational way possible through a logical and flexible architecture.

Owing to the imperative need to construct a building that would serve as the headquarters of the sports centre of a school situated in a district in the midst of the city's development and, after analysing the plot, it was proposed to locate the project in a strategic position among the large number of sports courts, especially paddle tennis and tennis courts. Its insertion in the plot is planned in the simplest and most functional way possible, designing a long concrete block aligned with the road that acts as a barrier with the street, providing a certain degree of privacy for the sportsmen and women while generating a blind façade to the exterior of a reasonable height and scale.

Most of the programmatic needs are located in this long block that foresees the possibility of a future extension in its longitudinal direction and that houses all the uses such as: changing rooms, gym, offices, toilets, storeroom, a small shop and a physiotherapy room, while the cafeteria is separated from it at the entrance point to the reception, thus articulating the heart of the building and the exterior routes. This T-shaped floor plan is as functional from a constructive point of view as it is logical in the conceptual development of the project.

To complete the cohesion of all the elements of the project, a light pergola joins the two volumetries while surrounding the cafeteria on its south-west orientation. In this way, the glass-filled facades of the diners are protected from the burning sun of Almería, while at the same time generating outdoor terraces for the enjoyment of paddle tennis matches and tournaments on the central court.
