FVAI’s main goal was to create an efficient and lightweight structure, fully integrated into the natural landscape of the Eresma river surroundings. This is a mixed-section bridge supported by inclined steel struts, crossing a rural watercourse where both structural and environmental factors shaped the design.

The structure is organized into several spans, with a maximum span of 14 meters. It uses a system of four articulated V-shaped supports, each with three branches. This solution transmits loads directly into the rocky ground, reducing material use and allowing quick and economical execution. The total bridge length is 100 meters.

The bridge’s aesthetic follows a logic of lightness and continuity. Very slim stainless steel railings and curved sidewalks on both ends create a soft, dynamic gesture. The composite steel–concrete deck also accommodates multiple utility networks beneath its surface, which defines its cross-section and structural depth.

The new bridge replaces an existing masonry bridge, which will be transformed into a pedestrian path and lookout point. This approach not only addresses traffic and structural needs, but also enriches the pedestrian experience and strengthens the connection between town and nature.

This new bridge is not just an infrastructure piece — it’s a new gateway, a daily path, and a visual landmark for the rural area of Segovia. It expresses clarity, material honesty, and structural intelligence, contributing both technically and symbolically to the transformation of the place.
