1. Design Brief
MLLE, a Lebanese dining destination in Riyadh designed by ark4lab of architecture, redefines contemporary Middle Eastern elegance through a bold, narrative-driven interior. The brief was to create an immersive, luxurious space rooted in Lebanese identity, while engaging the senses through art, materiality, and form. At its heart is a hand-painted ceiling that bursts with color and cultural symbolism, complemented by intricately patterned CNC-cut ironwork and bespoke fabrics. Every element works in harmony to create a vibrant yet refined environment that invites guests into an expressive and emotionally rich dining experience.

2. Challenges
The design process embraced the idea of storytelling through spatial composition, color, and craftsmanship. Inspired by Lebanese visual culture and Mediterranean vibrancy, the ceiling acts as a contemporary fresco—an animated canopy of bold motifs, geometric interplay, and folkloric references. Custom CNC ironwork was introduced as a fluid architectural element, weaving through the space and framing views while filtering light in dynamic patterns. A curated palette of textures—striped walls, marbled counters, plush upholstery, and custom-printed seating fabrics—balances the visual intensity with elegance and warmth. The design orchestrates contrast and cohesion, allowing each feature to shine individually while contributing to a unified, sensorial whole.

3. Result
The finished space is a visual and emotional journey. MLLE’s interiors celebrate artisanal detail and cultural resonance while delivering a contemporary hospitality experience. The dynamic ceiling, sculptural ironwork, and bespoke furnishings create a layered atmosphere that is at once joyful, luxurious, and deeply rooted in place.
