The project draws inspiration from the architecture of Villa Medici, establishing a harmonious dialogue between the interior decor and the exterior façades. Upon entering the room, one discovers a unique microarchitecture: a succession of arches and curves redefines and organizes the space, creating a natural transition between volumes and reinforcing the relationship with the ornamental façade of Villa Medici, visible from the room’s window. This connection is also expressed through monochrome patinas, which highlight the texture and grain of the walls, crafted using traditional lime-based techniques.

The resulting atmosphere is peaceful and soothing, subtly contrasting with the distinctive patinas of Villa Medici created by Balthus, painter and director of the French Academy from 1961 to 1977. A burnt wood table, specially designed for the occasion, along with carefully selected furnishings, echoes the emblematic elements of Villa Medici.
