Coro | Giuliano Andrea dell’Uva

Coro was born in Orvieto’s historic centre, inside a deconsecrated 16th century church on which architect Giuliano Andrea dell’Uva worked with precision and restraint to restore voice and verticality to a suspended space, rich in memory.

With its tuff walls, traces of the altar, natural light and contemporary artwork, everything is arranged to strike a balance between the sa- cred and the everyday.

In this place, the service, the atmosphere and the attention to rhythm all reflect a grounded, sincere ritual.

Founded by Chef Ronald Bukri and restaurant manager Francesco Perali, Coro aims to prove that a place can be inhabited with awareness and transformed with meaning.

Without noise, it immerses guests in the cultu- ral and culinary traditions of Umbria – all in a town with multiple underground tunnels.

Au cœur historique d’Orvieto, dans une ancienne église désacralisée du XVIe siècle, l’architecte Giuliano Andrea dell’Uva a restitué avec justesse et profondeur la verticalité etla voix d’un espace suspendu chargé de mémoire, donnant naissance à Coro.

Les murs en tuf, les traces de l’autel, la lumière naturelle, les œuvres contemporaines: tout est en parfait équilibre entre le sacré et le quotidien.

Dans un tel endroit, le service, l’atmosphère, l’attention portée au rythme se font l’écho d’une liturgie sobre et concrète.

Fondé par le chef Ronald Bukri et le directeur du restaurant Francesco Perali, Coro veut démontrer qu’un lieu peut être habité avec conscience et transformé avec sens.
