Set on the picturesque slopes above the widest stretch of the Dniester River, Molovata Wellness & Hotel Complex redefines rural luxury and wellness in Moldova. This project harmoniously blends contemporary organic architecture with the rich nature of the region, creating a space where privacy, mindfulness, and authenticity come together.

The Molovata area is renowned for its panoramic river views, rolling vineyards, and ancient energy. This is a traditional “place of power”, long admired by those seeking tranquility and restoration. Here, Molovata’s architecture is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible: seven unique “hobbit-house” guest suites are embedded into the hillside, their green roofs seamlessly merging with the landscape. This approach maximizes privacy, preserves open vistas, and creates a stable, comfortable microclimate year-round.

The boutique hotel accommodates up to 20 guests in seven rooms, including two VIP suites each with a private patio and plunge pool reminiscent of a Balinese villa. Each unit features a kitchenette and secluded garden access, providing guests with both comfort and a sense of retreat amid lush surroundings.

At the heart of the complex is the authentic bathhouse and spa zone. The herbal steam bath features a sculpted earthen dome, natural wood benches, and stone finishes; a central stove infuses the air with aromatic herbs for a restorative, ritual-like experience. The Russian banya evokes the feeling of an ancient cave, with clay-plastered walls, stylized petroglyph murals, rough-hewn timber, and atmospheric lighting. Completing the spa is a Finnish sauna crafted from massive timber, highlighted by a backlit onyx wall — a warm, meditative space infused with natural scents and gentle light. The entire spa area is enhanced by massage rooms, open-air plunge pools, and serene lounge spaces.

Across the road, directly along the riverbank, lies the event and restaurant zone. Here, a straw-roofed pavilion, a summer terrace, and a scenic swimming pond host weddings and celebrations in a relaxed rural atmosphere. The two parts of the complex are connected by walking trails, with river access that allows guests to arrive via a private ferry for a truly memorable entrance.

Sustainability and respect for the landscape are at the core of every detail — from the energy-efficient, earth-integrated structures and natural finishes, to local construction practices and eco-friendly landscaping.
