Brought to life by Hans Välimäki, Maria von Graevenitz-Välimäki, Arto Rastas, and Miika Lönn, Lionne is the latest addition to Helsinki’s culinary scene. From buttery pastries at sunrise to seasonal dishes served late into the evening, the experience feels both timeless and current.

Alongside classical French bistros, the 1800s building has been a key source of inspiration, with its architectural features preserved and highlighted. Original brick walls and cast iron beams are left visible, grounding the space in its history while allowing the details to take centre stage.

The spatial concept extends from the terrace through the bar into the restaurant, maintaining a consistent atmosphere throughout. Light wall surfaces and warm lighting set a soft, inviting tone that shifts smoothly with the time of day. Bespoke brass lighting fixtures, designed in collaboration with Fasetti, offer a modern take on classic French chandeliers - reflecting light and softening the space. Dark wood furniture introduces patina and depth, while light upper surfaces and darker lower tones contribute to the height of the rooms.

The decorative floor tiling nods to French tradition. A curated mix of printed patterns adds visual texture and a sense of layered continuity. Originally two separate spaces, the restaurant now unfolds room by room, maintaining a cohesive and considered atmosphere throughout.
