The development of industry on the right bank of the Vistula River dates back to the turn of the 1960s and 1970s and is associated with the construction of railway infrastructure there. Factory of Machines and Millstones at present ul. Kłopotowskiego 11, where the title apartment is located, was established in 1900 on the initiative of Oskar Hartwig and Gustaw Łęgiewski. The complex consisted of seven buildings made of full brick on lime mortar with beamed wooden ceilings partly supported on cast-iron columns. The buildings were characterized by utilitarian industrial architecture typical for the period of their construction, with facades finished with brown/red veneer. The inspiration for this 33-meter studio was the idea of a chic midcen- tury modern apartment containing a lot of wood and a sublime selection of accessories in the atmosphere of a sofisciated hotel room. A characteristic point of the apartment is the wooden entrance made of stained oak, which, apart from the decorative function, is a huge storage space because we are talking about almost 3.5 meters high apartment. The annex zone can actually be divided into two, one is a part hidden in wooden structure, while the other is a kitchenette with a table top made of Palomino quartzite. The dining area is equipped with a table of my own design, with Casala chairs from the 70s, a pendant lamp also from the 70s by the Danish designer Lyskaer Belysning and a painting by the Polish artist Tomek Opaliński. To ensure the greatest possible access to daylight, the bedroom zone was separated by an openwork cabinet of my own design. A bed I designed accompanied by vintage scon- ces from the 1960s. The bathroom in this design is a large space with a bathtub, a pedestal-shaped washbasin, stylized vintage bathroom fittings and lamps and a mirror from flea markets. The walls are covered with green tiles from Vogue Ceramic.
