Nestled along the picturesque coastline, the Ammos Beach Hotel emerges as a luxurious retreat following an extensive renovation and transformation from its original structure into a modern five-star establishment. Completed within a remarkably short timeframe, the hotel now boasts 80 rooms and offers guests a seamless blend of contemporary comfort and natural beauty. The hotel is thoughtfully organized in an L-shaped layout, strategically oriented towards the sea to maximize breathtaking views from a majority of its rooms. The design philosophy is deeply rooted in celebrating its proximity to the sea and embracing the unique natural character of the surrounding environment. Central to its architectural narrative is the concept of floating spaces, achieved through the integration of natural materials and water elements that create a tranquil and immersive experience for guests.The hotel’s southern section features exclusive bungalows adorned with private pools, offering guests a secluded and luxurious retreat overlooking the serene waters. Meanwhile, the northern part of the complex houses the restaurant, strategically positioned to face the sea and create an illusion of floating above the water, enhancing the dining experience with panoramic views. Inspired by traditional Cretan architecture with minimalist Japanese influences, the facades are meticulously crafted to harmonize with its coastal surroundings. Lattice constructions and wooden awnings adorn the eastern elevation, framing views of the central pool and organizing the facade into a pattern that symbolizes room divisions while maintaining a sense of openness and connection to nature. Conversely, the west-facing elevation along the street is designed with narrow vertical openings defined by corten steel blades. This approach not only enhances sound insulation and privacy but also provides effective protection from the intense summer sun, ensuring a comfortable interior environment for guests. The entrance is strategically located on the western side, leading guests into a welcoming reception area that serves as a central reference point within the complex.
