Rg house
Madrid / Spain
RG House is a residential interior design project located in Madrid. The project consists of a detached single-family home with two floors, where comfort and natural light are of utmost importance.
Light and the uniformity of materials guide the design and details, shaping a place with Mediterranean roots and an architectural approach that prioritizes simplicity and essence over the superfluous.
Three key aspects prevail throughout the project: the silent attention to every detail, the dialogue and coexistence between materials, and a luxurious simplicity born from their nobility.
The interior architecture proposal is resolved through three main materials: bleached oak, aged brass, and large-format rectified porcelain tiles, which act as a common thread to articulate and define every space.
The selection of these materials follows a principle of balance: the primary materials counterbalance one another, resulting in a space filled with calm and order.
The inert aspect of stone is expressed through large blocks that flow through the rooms, sculpting volumes and shaping the staircase.
This solidity is softened by the warmth and comfort of wood. In this case, bleached oak achieves perfect chromatic harmony, creating balanced spaces where light sculpts the volumes and enhances their nuances.
A sculptural staircase with precise proportions welcomes visitors, immediately revealing the strength of the shapes and volumes that define the house. A carefully studied entry of natural light in relation to the spaces helps to establish a sense of calm.
On the ground floor, the layout includes a living-dining room connected to the kitchen and service areas, as well as a study and two en-suite bedrooms. Throughout the project, the different materials coexist and transition harmoniously from one to another.
In the living-dining room, a bespoke table designed by Summumstudio has been incorporated, featuring a large ceramic top by Living Ceramics, in dialogue with the other ceramic elements used.
This same exercise of material integration and detailed design has been applied to the bathrooms, where custom sinks designed by the studio once again employ porcelain, in harmony with the sanitaryware, fixtures, and the overall palette of the home.
On the first floor, the remaining bedrooms are located, all of them en-suite, including the master bedroom, which also integrates a walk-in closet.
Rg House represents a pure interior design work, addressing the needs of a home where light, detail, form, and material balance define every solution. The superfluous is left aside, and spaces are transformed into evocative volumes and bold, balanced forms.
