Lombard Odier | Herzog & de Meuron
Geneva / Switzerland / 2025
Located in Bellevue, Geneva, the avant-garde building embodies the Group’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. By bringing together more than 2,000 employees who were previously spread across six sites in Geneva, the new headquarters will unite Lombard Odier’s Genevan teams under one roof, improving efficiency and strengthening collaboration.
As Geneva’s oldest private bank, with almost 230 years of history, the new headquarters represents a strategic step for the Group as it positions itself for future growth. It also reaffirms Lombard Odier’s deep commitment to Geneva and its continued confidence in Switzerland’s financial sector.
“Our new headquarters is more than a building – it is a statement that represents who we are today and our future growth ambitions,” said Hubert Keller, Senior Managing Partner of Lombard Odier Group.
“Partnering with Herzog & de Meuron allowed us to push boundaries and create a state-of-the-art working environment designed according to the highest sustainability standards. We look forward to welcoming our clients to our new home, and to serving them in this exceptional building.”
Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, the building has been designed to embrace flexibility and transparency by maximising the perception of its natural surroundings. It is a physical symbol of the Group’s values of excellence, innovation and ‘One Team’, and is the first work in French-speaking Switzerland by the Basel- based architects Herzog & de Meuron. Employees will move into the building throughout the months of September and October.
“This project demonstrates that “Rethink Everything®” is more than just a slogan for Lombard Odier. Together, we have created an office environment unlike any other, making the most of an incredible location.
The new headquarters will further optimise interaction with clients while establishing a workplace that prioritises both efficiency and employee wellbeing,” commented Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron.
The client areas have been designed by renowned interior designer Rodolphe Parente, offering a unique experience to clients during their interactions with bankers and other experts. His attention to detail and use of timeless materials contribute to creating an intimate atmosphere.
A building designed to meet the highest sustainability standards
Sustainability has been in Lombard Odier’s DNA throughout the Group’s history, and the building has been designed with both people and its environmental impact in mind. It has been constructed according to robust criteria regarding material use, energy provision, circularity, employee well-being and advanced green technologies that significantly reduce its environmental footprint. It aims to achieve the highest level of three widely recognised sustainable construction certifications: SNBS (Standard Nachhaltiges Bauen Schweiz),
Minergie-P and BREEAM®
Highlights of Lombard Odier’s new headquarters
• Blends harmoniously with its surroundings and features open, flexible workspaces and state-of-the- art amenities.
• An auditorium shaped like a sheet of paper folded back on itself: crafted in bare concrete, it serves as a symbol of succession and continuity across time. Combining technological prowess with aesthetic appeal, it can accommodate more than 500 guests.
• An atrium sits at the core of the building: an architectural achievement that brings natural light to all floors, providing a welcoming environment.
• Designed to minimise energy and water use: fitted with solar panels, the building will be connected to the innovative GeniLac system, which uses the water of Lake Geneva to heat and cool buildings.
• More than 160 trees have been planted around the headquarters, while measures to promote local biodiversity have been implemented.
• Ideally located at the heart of the transport network, the building is just minutes from central Geneva and close to the airport. It is easily accessible by road, bike, rail, as well as boat via the recently approved CGN liaison from Corsier to Bellevue.
