Casa Giardino | Claudio Larcher
A temporary regeneration project Milan / Italy / 2025
A green oasis among Milan’s disused railway tracks. Within a former train depot at Scalo Farini comes to life Casa Giardino, an Italian restaurant that temporarily transforms an abandoned site into a convivial and contemporary space. Curated by Claudio Larcher, the project stems from a deep respect for the original architecture of the building, enhanced by a wide outdoor terrace overlooking the façade and by a large inner garden hosting plants and olive trees—creating a Mediterranean and unexpected atmosphere in the heart of Milan. While preserving its industrial soul, the structure has been reinterpreted with a warm and natural touch, thanks to the presence of greenery and the choice of sustainable furnishings. Next to the restaurant, guests can discover a hidden bar with a more playful and experimental spirit: a speakeasy defined by a red and blue palette that evokes theatrical atmospheres. The interiors, furnished with Natuzzi pieces, shape a distinctive and immersive space designed for mixology and Milan’s nightlife. The intervention does not aim to erase the memory of the place, but to bring it back to life through a new, temporary, and shared function. Casa Giardino thus becomes a symbol of Milan’s temporary and urban transformation: a laboratory that reopens a part of the city, reconnecting nature, architecture, and community.
