The venue renovation project is inspired by the aesthetics of 1950s American diners, reinterpreted “in an immersive and theatrical spatiality, conveyed through the rhythm of the spaces, the use of light, and the selection of highly expressive materials,” as described by the architects at FMA.

The entrance, featuring glass block walls and an industrial-style door with expanded metal inserts, introduces the aesthetic found within. Upon entering the first room, the bar counter takes center stage: placed at the back, it is clad in perforated clay bricks (BLOC NATURAL by Mutina), backlit with LED lighting that highlights its texture with a dramatic backlighting effect.

Passing through a lit archway, visitors arrive at the core of the venue: a double-height room featuring a red enameled corrugated metal tunnel that wraps the entire space. Here, an elevated stage for live music sits beside the large window, seemingly floating above the floor. A feature wall dotted with wooden hand sculptures completes the setting, serving both as an installation and an interactive element, with a clear visual impact.

The red eco-leather upholstered seating contrasts with the coffee-colored walls of the room, and together with the soft lighting, creates an atmosphere that is both intimate and refined. A backlit cellular polycarbonate wall acts as a backdrop for a second live stage.

On the mezzanine level, the vaulted ceiling is clad in corrugated metal panels, accentuated by grazing light that reflects dynamically, creating visual vibrations that change with every step.

Il progetto del rinnovo del locale si ispira all’estetica  dei diner americani anni ’50, reinterpretata “in una spazialità immersiva e scenografica, restituita attraverso il ritmo degli spazi, l’uso della luce e la scelta di materiali fortemente espressivi” come illustrano gli architetti di FMA.

L’ingresso, caratterizzato da pareti in vetrocemento e una porta industrial con inserti in lamiera stirata, anticipa l’estetica degli interni. Entrando nella prima sala, il bancone è protagonista: posto sul fondo, è rivestito da mattoncini forati in argilla (bloc natural Mutina), retro-illuminati da luci led che ne esaltano la matericità con un effetto di controluce. 

Attraversando un arco illuminato, si giunge al sala fulcro del locale, che esalta lo spazio a doppia altezza con un tunnel in lamiera ondulata smaltata rosso,  che abbraccia l'intero spazio; qui, una pedana rialzata per le esibizioni musicali affianca la vetrina e sembra galleggiare sul pavimento. La parete punteggiata da  sculture di mani in legno completa la scenografia, rivelandosi  installazione ed elemento interattivo, di chiaro impatto visivo.

Le sedute imbottite in ecopelle rossa dialogano con le pareti color caffè della sala, e insieme all’illuminazione soffusa, creano un ambiente al contempo intimo e sobrio, definito da una parete in policarbonato alveolare retroilluminata, che diventa sfondo ad una seconda pedana per i live.  

Al piano soppalcato, la volta a botte della sala è rivestita da pannelli in lamiera ondulata, esaltata dalla luce radente, riflessa in modo dinamico, creando vibrazioni visive che mutano a ogni passo.

“L’effetto è quello di un guscio futuristico che trasporta l’ospite in un’altra dimensione. È uno spazio che cattura l’attenzione, invita alla fotografia, genera ricordo: un segno iconico e distintivo, capace di definire l’identità del locale, pensato non solo per stupire, ma per rimanere impresso” concludono gli architetti.
