This 74 m² apartment, located in an 18th-century building in the heart of Paris’s Marais district, has been completely transformed to harmonize historical character with modern comfort. After carefully stripping back past alterations to reveal the original structure, the renovation redefined the layout to restore authentic proportions while meeting contemporary living needs, despite the challenge of low ceilings.

Natural materials such as wood, stone, and limewash are highlighted in a calm, light-filled palette, with vertical design elements enhancing the sense of space. The new layout includes a main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a flexible second bedroom or office, a guest shower room, and a large open-plan living area with kitchen.

Meticulous craftsmanship and custom details—like a foldable desk integrated into an architectural casing —reflect a thoughtful design ethos. The result is a refined, luminous interior that seamlessly connects the apartment’s historic soul with a contemporary way of life.

Ce projet de rénovation d’un appartement de 74 m² situé dans un immeuble du XVIIIᵉ siècle, au cœur du Marais à Paris, réinterprète un lieu historique en alliant patrimoine et modernité. Après une déconstruction minutieuse pour retrouver la structure d’origine, l’aménagement repense les volumes et restaure l’esprit initial, tout en intégrant confort et fonctionnalité contemporains malgré une faible hauteur sous plafond.

Le design met en valeur les matériaux naturels — bois, pierre, chaux — dans une palette apaisante, jouant sur la verticalité et la lumière pour créer une impression d’espace. L’organisation comprend désormais une chambre principale avec salle de bain, une seconde chambre modulable, une salle d’eau invités et une grande pièce à vivre avec cuisine ouverte.

Le projet se distingue par son sens du détail et ses solutions sur mesure, comme un bureau pliable intégré dans un chambranle. Résultat : un intérieur élégant, lumineux et cohérent, où dialogue subtilement la mémoire du lieu avec une esthétique contemporaine.
