From the name of the nymphs of the woods and mountains in Greek mythology, and from the energy and beauty of Tuscany, Oreade is born. 
In the heart of the Val d’Orcia, within the scattered boutique hotel Monteverdi Tuscany, Oreade comes to life — a fine dining restaurant designed by Foster + Partners. A space conceived to celebrate raw materials — primitive, architectural, and culinary. We were chosen to design and craft bespoke lighting and furnishing elements capable of dialoguing with raw, local, and natural materials. A tailor-made project, between design and craftsmanship, that tells the story of our way of making light.

A 300-year-old beam is reborn — and becomes light
We recovered an 18th-century beam, collapsed after an earthquake, and transformed it into an illuminated bench. The trunk is lit by a LED line that becomes a spine and provides support, while the metal seat gains softness and life through hand-crafted acid etching. Through the light that spills from its cracks, this beam changes life and is reborn.

The main table is made from local olive wood. At its center, running its entire length, a stream of molten metal flows like a river, joining its two banks. A gesture that blends strength and fluidity — like mending. This is a table designed to be touched and lived, by both diners and those who bring the kitchen to life. Once again, the ancient and the contemporary meet.

Dal nome delle ninfe dei boschi e delle montagne nella mitologia greca, dall'energia e dalla bellezza della Toscana, nasce Oreade.
Nel cuore della Val d’Orcia, all’interno del boutique hotel diffuso Monteverdi Tuscany, prende vita Oreade, il fine dining restaurant progettato da Foster + Partners. Un luogo pensato per valorizzare le materie prime — primitive, architettoniche e culinarie. Siamo stati scelti per progettare e realizzare elementi di illuminazione e di arredo su misura, capaci di dialogare con materiali grezzi, locali, naturali. Un progetto sartoriale, tra design e artigianato, che racconta il nostro modo di fare luce.

Abbiamo recuperato una trave del 1700, crollata dopo un terremoto, e l'abbiamo trasformata in una panca luminosa. Il tronco è illuminato da una linea LED che diventa spina dorsale e sostiene, mentre la seduta, in metallo, acquisisce morbidezza e vita grazie all'acidatura realizzata a mano. E attraverso la luce che sborda dalle crepe, questa trave cambia vita e rinasce.

Il tavolo principale è realizzato in legno di ulivo locale. Al centro, su tutta la sua lunghezza, una colata di metallo liquido scorre come un fiume e unisce le sponde. Un gesto che fonde forza e fluidità, come il rammendare. È un tavolo pensato per essere toccato e vissuto, sia dai commensali che dagli attori della cucina. È di nuovo l'antico e il contemporaneo che si incontrano.
