The Pink Apartment | mm architects

This Fairlight apartment, originally built in the 1970s, has been transformed from a dark and dated interior into a chic, light-filled retreat. The renovation by M+M Architects focused on maximising natural light and ventilation while introducing a modern sense of luxury that responds to contemporary living.

Working in collaboration with NB Consulting engineers, key structural changes opened up the apartment’s layout, ensuring improved functionality while maintaining the building’s integrity. The reconfigured plan allows cross-ventilation and light to move freely through the interiors, creating a more comfortable and uplifting home environment.

Interior designer Melissa Collison introduced a refined and feminine aesthetic that softens the architectural framework. Rich marble accents, soft pink hues, and elegant detailing combine to create interiors that feel both inviting and sophisticated. The open-plan arrangement enhances flexibility while encouraging a sense of flow between spaces.

Modern amenities and carefully considered finishes elevate the everyday, from premium materials to integrated detailing that enhances ease of use. The overall effect is timeless yet distinctly contemporary, balancing comfort with style.

Completed in April 2024, the project reflects a seamless collaboration between architect, engineer, builder, and designer, resulting in a home that celebrates light, texture, and modern refinement.
