The project for the historic schreckbichl winery grew up step by step: through several interventions over the course of time, the business complex was to be given a completely new look, without demolition, but in dialogue with the existing buildings, combining old and new. in an initial construction process, two materials were chosen to characterise the project: wood and metal. two materials that come closer together, embracing the existing while creating new spaces. the main wing – which houses the stainless steel tanks, the bottling plant, the bottle store and the offices – was clad in a new oak façade that protrudes 50 centimetres from the walls of the existing building and features boards and joints of various sizes. it is a structure divided into three parts, in which fullness and emptiness alternate in a sculptural and material interplay. the round, reflective surfaces of the artist philipp messner break into the calm and materially uniform surface structure of the façades in contrast. on the opposite side, a long, black-coated metallic construction marks a new backdrop and, at the end, becomes the cantilevered roof of a large open space that functions as a gathering point for the grapes during the harvest, but also as a place for socialising. as part of the second intervention, a courtyard area was created, which is bordered by an open metal structure with integrated plant boxes. this vertical hanging garden creates a harmonious and dynamic space, which also presents itself in different colours depending on the season. a third intervention, consisting of restoration and integration, creates a further new dialogue. a garden is created – a green, horizontal square – which serves as a new canopy for the building, with a view of the vineyards and the countryside. the façade plays with open and closed surfaces, with projections and recesses, which create a continuous play of shadows through the interplay of wooden elements. a tower on the main façade becomes the company’s new landmark, redefines the identity of the winery and creates a connection between the façade and the green area on the flat roof. materiality and scale – the proportions – play a decisive role. the surrounding landscape becomes the material through the textures and colours used – red, black, green – and reflects the identity of the winery and the location. inside, one experiences an interplay between intimate and open spaces. in the shop, an interplay of materials, heights, atmospheres created by natural and artificial light, colour combinations is created: spaces that generate emotions.

la storica cantina sociale colterenzio è un progetto che si è sviluppato in diversi interventi nel corso del tempo, con l’obiettivo di dare un’immagine totalmente nuova all’azienda, senza demolire nulla ma cercando di trovare un dialogo con gli edifici esistenti, un legame tra vecchio e nuovo. nel primo intervento, due sono gli elementi scelti per caratterizzare il progetto, il legno e il metallo. due materiali che si accostano, avvolgendo l’esistente ma creando nuovi spazi interstiziali. il manufatto principale, in cui si trovano i serbatoi di acciaio inox, l’impianto di imbottigliamento, il magazzino delle bottiglie e gli uffici, è stato rivestito con una nuova facciata in legno di rovere, distante 50 cm dalle pareti dell’edificio e composta da listelli e fughe di diverse dimensioni. un volume strutturato in tre parti, che alterna pieni e vuoti, in un gioco plastico e materico. le superfici tonde riflettenti dell’artista philipp messner irrompono a contrasto nella tessitura ordinata e materica delle facciate. sul lato opposto, una lunga struttura di metallo verniciato di nero segna una nuova quinta, diventando, sul finire, una copertura pensile su un ampio spazio aperto, utilizzato come punto di raccolta per le uve, ma anche come luogo per la convivialità. nel secondo intervento, è stata realizzata una corte il cui perimetro è disegnato da una struttura metallica aperta, che ospita un sistema di contenitori per la crescita delle piante di un giardino verticale. uno spazio armonioso e dinamico che offre scenari e colori diversi a seconda delle stagioni. un terzo intervento, di restauro e integrazione, instaura un nuovo ulteriore dialogo. nasce un giardino – una piazza verde orizzontale -, nuova copertura dell’edificio, con vista sulle vigne e sul paesaggio. la facciata lavora con superfici aperte e chiuse, con sporgenze e rientranze che creano continui effetti d’ombra in un gioco di alternanza tra elementi in legno. una torre sul fronte principale diventa nuovo landmark dell’azienda, ridefinendo l’identità della cantina e creando un collegamento tra la facciata e l’area verde presente sul tetto piano. materialità e scala – le proporzioni – giocano un ruolo decisivo. il paesaggio circostante si fa materia attraverso le texture e il colori utilizzati, il rosso, il nero, il verde, riflettendo l’identità della cantina e del luogo. dentro si sperimenta un’alternanza tra spazi intimi e aperti. nel negozio, un gioco di materiali, altezze, atmosfere create dalla luce naturale e artificiale, combinazioni di colori: spazi che generano emozioni.
