estled in the charming seaside village of De Haan, this generous family home was designed as a warm and timeless retreat for two adults, their four children, and two dogs. Covering nearly 1,000 square meters, the house offers plenty of space while maintaining a sense of intimacy and togetherness.

From the very first sketches, the interior architect was closely involved in shaping the project. This early collaboration ensured a seamless dialogue between architecture, interior, and daily life — where every space, material, and sightline was designed to support the rhythm of family living.

At the heart of the design lies the spacious living kitchen — the warm center of the house. Flooded with natural light and connected to the garden, it serves as a place to cook, gather, and unwind. The palette of natural materials — soft wood tones, tactile stone, and warm textures — creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere that stands up beautifully to the joyful chaos of children and dogs.

The architecture balances openness and privacy, with fluid transitions between shared spaces and quiet corners. Large windows frame views of the dunes and bring the seaside light deep into the house, while the material palette ensures a timeless sense of comfort and authenticity.
