In the heart of Neuilly-sur-Seine, this apartment was conceived by Katz Studio as a private retreat, bathed in light and an almost tactile warmth. Designed for a music enthusiast, it combines a soft, subdued atmosphere with a selection of noble materials and a subtle dialogue between wood, stone, and raw steel. Here, every detail contributes to an enveloping ambiance, where design and music intertwine naturally.

A living room designed for contemplation and connection

Spacious and thoughtfully structured, the living room is the beating heart of the apartment. It opens onto a stone fireplace, a central feature that grounds the space in warmth and organic character. On either side, two vintage tables by Liaigreemphasize the room’s symmetry while adding a touch of timeless sophistication.

Facing the fireplace, a large modular sofa in ecru fabric stretches along wide windows draped with sheer linen curtains that soften the natural light and mellow the contrasts. The carefully curated furniture plays with volumes and textures : a bold striped LaMamma armchair by Gaetano Pesce makes a sculptural statement with its spherical ottoman, creating dynamic balance. It sits across from a more architectural seat in faded rose bouclé, whose soft curves contrast with the strong lines of the space. A rounded solid wood coffee table anchors the composition. All of this rests on dark wood flooring, enhancing the intimate and grounded feel of the room.

A music bar crafted as a refined showcase

A true signature of the apartment, the custom-designed bar and music corner by Katz Studio serves as a showcase in smoked eucalyptus wood, defined by vertical slats that create a rhythmic façade. Both a mixing station and a collector’s space, it features a large custom-built library that houses vinyl records, books, and art objects. A minimalist and graphic raw steel divider frames the space without enclosing it. Along the counter, sculpted wooden stools invite conversation, making this bar a true gathering spot — a place where music is lived as much as it is heard.

A sculptural kitchen balancing contrast and elegance

In the kitchen, the contrast of materials brings immediate sophistication. Smoked eucalyptus wood fronts are paired with deep burgundy lacquered elements, while the travertine countertop softens the whole with its delicate grain and natural hue. The dining area is furnished with vintage Tupile chairs by Knoll, whose clean curves reinforce the timeless spirit of the space. A marble table, sourced for its unique veining, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement.

A dining room between design and collectible art

Flowing naturally from the living room, the dining room extends the muted ambiance, where dark wood engages in quiet dialogue with the soft light filtering through long diaphanous curtains. At the center, a vintage table by Liaigre stands with understated elegance, surrounded by matching chairs offering both comfort and structure.

Art pieces punctuate the space with character: a sculptural and vibrant light fixture by Robert Combas brings singular energy, while two rabbit sculptures by Camille Henrot sit atop the table, creating an unexpected conversation between design and contemporary art. A Donald Judd exhibition poster evokes Katz Studio’s admiration for minimalist architecture and graphic purity.

A bedroom blending vintage lines with contemporary calm

In line with the aesthetic of the apartment, the main bedroom reveals a serene atmosphere, defined by warm tones and soft, enveloping textures. A custom walnut dresser with gentle curves and a vintage Elda armchair by Joe Colombo—with its iconic sculptural silhouette, glossy white shell, and brown leather upholstery—anchor the space in elegance and design history.

A living space designed to endure

Throughout the project, interior architecture fades into the background in favor of a fully immersive experience, where materiality, light, and design come together to shape a timeless atmosphere. This apartment is more than a place to live — it is a world of its own, imagined by Katz Studio to embrace rhythm and stillness, moments of sharing and solitary interludes, with quiet, lasting elegance.
