Podere Sirolo | SpecialItaly
Città della Pieve / Italy / 2024
The location of this exquisite property is hard to beat. The pretty medieval hilltop town of Città della Pieve, cleverly framed by several of the villa’s windows, is a comfortable walk away or just a few minutes by car. And if you can draw your eyes away from its arresting silhouette, you will be rewarded by further stunning views over the Val di Chiana and to Tuscany.
Podere Sirolo was brought back to life by the SpecialUmbria team who designed the new property to replace a former farmhouse. The design uses a palette of natural, local materials and soft colours, all in keeping with its rural location. Comfort was the guiding principle and the result is a calm, light, spacious and relaxing villa for eight.
Much of the furniture is bespoke, handmade by local carpenters. Other pieces form a considered edit of international design brands. A light color resin floor creates flow and is the cool to the warm wood’s cosy, while the marble worktop in the kitchen is an enormous slab of such beautiful stone it is a work of art in itself.
The beautiful design continues outside where the landscaped garden has its own ‘rooms’ for dining and relaxing, made fabulous by the Mediterranean planting, the large pool 14m x 6m is surrounded by lawn, there’s a terrace and a long dining table under the veranda.
Podere Sirolo is the perfect place to come with friends and family, to switch to a gentler pace yet with lots to explore not far from the door.
