The apartment, approximately 60 square meters, is located on the penultimate floor of a large building built at the beginning of the 20th century in one of the most distinctive residential areas of Genoa. The renovation project primarily aimed at enhancing the panoramic view of the city, focusing mainly on reorganizing the interior spaces while maintaining some of the original features of the building. The small bathroom and the large kitchen were remodeled to create a more spacious bathroom with a bathtub and shower and a kitchenette, while the bedroom and living room remained largely unchanged. Additionally, in one corner of the hallway, a separate study area was created with a triangular desk enclosed by six mirrored doors, capable of reflecting the external view and diffusing light throughout the corridor.

The aesthetic and material choices aimed at balancing the original architecture, such as Genoese terrazzo floors, ceiling stucco work, and wooden internal doors, with the new functional needs. The corridor, study, and kitchenette feature different colors and flooring, emphasizing their role as connections between the spaces. While the living room, bedroom, and bathroom feature various shades of white, due to the materials used, they amplify the rooms' great natural light. In reference to the terrazzo floors, both the kitchen and bathroom include many details in Carrara marble and Siena yellow. The result is a welcoming and bright apartment where the panoramic view of the city plays a central role in shaping the spaces.

L'appartamento, di circa 60 mq, si trova in una delle zone residenziali più caratteristiche di Genova, al penultimo piano di un grande palazzo costruito all'inizio del Novecento. Il progetto di ristrutturazione ha avuto come obiettivo principale quello di valorizzare la vista panoramica sulla città e ha riguardato principalmente la riorganizzazione degli spazi interni, mantenendo però alcuni degli elementi originali dell’edificio. Sono stati rimodulati il piccolo bagno e la grande cucina per creare un bagno più spazioso con vasca e doccia e un angolo cottura, mentre la camera da letto e il soggiorno sono rimasti sostanzialmente invariati. In un angolo del corridoio di distribuzione è stato inoltre realizzato un angolo studio separato, con una scrivania triangolare chiusa da sei ante a specchio, in grado di riflettere il panorama esterno e diffondere la luce nel corridoio.
Le scelte estetiche e dei materiali si sono orientate verso un equilibrio tra l’architettura originale, come le graniglie genovesi, gli stucchi a soffitto e le porte interne in legno, e le nuove necessità funzionali. Il corridoio, lo studio e l'angolo cottura presentano colori e pavimentazioni differenti, sottolineando il loro ruolo di collegamento tra gli ambienti. Mentre il soggiorno la camera e il bagno presentano diverse sfumature di bianco, dovute ai materiali utilizzati, utili ad amplificare la grande luminosità degli ambienti. In riferimento ai marmi delle graniglie, la cucina e il bagno ospitano molti dettagli in marmo di Carrara e giallo Siena.  Il risultato finale è un appartamento accogliente e luminoso, dove la vista panoramica sulla città gioca un ruolo centrale nel caratterizzare gli spazi.
