A hybrid container that celebrates sharing and urban culture.

Section80 Bar is located in the Isola district of Milan, on the ground floor of a building whose distinctive piano-tail shape inspired the project’s concept: blending the spaces of the bar with the city itself, creating the feeling of an urban arcade where the boundaries between inside and outside blur and the exterior merges with the interior, and vice versa.

The environments were designed to flexibly accommodate and manage the various souls of the venue: a wine bar with kitchen, a listening bar featuring a state-of-the-art LED cinema wall, and a library area created in collaboration with Edicola 518.

The stylistic and material choices respond to the need to create a space projected towards the urban dimension, where domesticity deliberately fades into the background. The black concrete terrazzo flooring seamlessly connects to the asphalt sidewalks that surround the building, while the furnishings and interior elements are made from industrial materials typically used for exteriors, such as galvanized steel and facade plaster that covers all the walls. The technical systems and technological elements are not hidden, but rather highlighted in both their function and aesthetic language, consistent with the overall approach of the project.

In the main hall, the ceiling is clad with pyramid-shaped sound-absorbing panels, designed to create acoustic comfort that enhances the custom-made high-fidelity audio system by H.A.N.D. Hi-Fi.
The lighting design is based on a repeated linear graphic element that draws a new horizon and allows for the modulation of intensity and color, creating ever-changing atmospheres within the rooms.

Along the shopfronts facing Via Farini, a system alternates display elements facing outwards with black rubber-clad steps facing inwards. Thanks to two movable bleachers and a set of custom-made modular tables, the space can be reconfigured flexibly to accommodate various uses and scenarios.

The library area is a neutral, light-filled environment, featuring an exhibition system with sheet metal shelves and a wall created by repurposing galvanized spiral ducts typically used for air-conditioning. This solution reinterprets industrial elements in a decorative key, seamlessly integrating them into the overall design language.

All the handles were specially designed with a pop aesthetic that nods to street art, as do the black-painted plywood stools and the stackable stainless-steel trolleys in the library area.
Finally, the outdoor area completes the experience with a long bench in galvanized tubular profiles, to which round metal tables are affixed.

Section80 Bar si trova nel quartiere Isola a Milano, al piano terra di un edificio la cui particolare forma a coda di pianoforte ha ispirato il concept: fondere gli spazi del locale con la città, ricreando l’idea di un sottoportico urbano in cui i limiti tra dentro e fuori diventano labili e l’esterno si fonde con l’interno, e viceversa.

Gli ambienti sono stati progettati per accogliere e gestire in maniera flessibile le diverse anime del locale: un wine bar con cucina, un listening bar con un LED wall cinematografico all’avanguardia e una zona libreria realizzata in collaborazione con Edicola 518.

Le scelte stilistiche e materiche rispondono all’esigenza di creare un luogo proiettato verso l’urbano, dove la domesticità rimane, per una volta, in secondo piano. Il pavimento in graniglia di cemento nero si lega con l’asfalto dei marciapiedi che circondano l’edificio, mentre gli arredi e gli elementi interni sono realizzati con materiali industriali solitamente utilizzati per l’esterno, come l’acciaio zincato e l’intonachino da facciata che riveste tutte le pareti. Gli impianti e gli elementi tecnologici non vengono nascosti, ma esaltati nella loro funzione e nel loro linguaggio estetico, coerente con l’approccio generale del progetto.

Nella sala principale, il soffitto è rivestito in pannelli fonoassorbenti piramidali, pensati per creare un comfort acustico che valorizza il sistema audio ad alta fedeltà, realizzato su misura da H.A.N.D. Hi-Fi.

Il progetto illuminotecnico si basa su un segno grafico lineare e ripetuto, che disegna un nuovo orizzonte e permette di modulare intensità e colore della luce, creando scenari sempre diversi all’interno delle sale.

Lungo le vetrine affacciate su via Farini, un sistema accoglie elementi espositivi verso l’esterno e gradoni rivestiti in gomma nera verso l’interno. Grazie a due spalti mobili e a un insieme di tavoli componibili realizzati su misura, lo spazio può essere riconfigurato con flessibilità in base a diversi usi e scenari.

La stanza destinata alla libreria si configura come un ambiente neutro e luminoso, dotato di un sistema espositivo costituito da mensole in lamiera e da una parete realizzata con tubi spiro zincati, comunemente impiegati come condotti per la climatizzazione. Questa soluzione interpreta una trasposizione decorativa degli elementi industriali, integrandoli armoniosamente nel linguaggio progettuale complessivo. 

Tutte le maniglie sono state disegnate per l’occasione con un linguaggio pop che strizza l’occhio alla street art, così come gli sgabelli in multistrato dipinto di nero e i carrellini in acciaio inox impilabili della zona libreria.

Il dehor esterno completa l’esperienza con una lunga panca in profili tubolari zincati, a cui sono fissati tavolini tondi in metallo.
