Aunique senior living project has opened in Vahrn: 7 units for 84 residents, 30 assisted apartments, public gardens, playground & sports area, canteen & bar, medical practices, hairdresser & laundry – all under one roof!

This is not a typical retirement home, but much more: seven residential units for 84 seniors in bright, modern spaces, 30 assisted-living apartments, several gardens, a playground, a canteen, and a bar – all open to the public – plus four medical practices, a hair salon, and a laundry.

The mayors of the three involved municipalities – Brixen, Vahrn, and Lüsen – are proud of their joint project called Ella:
“This should be a house where people meet – young and old, across generations,” says Brixen’s mayor, Andreas Jungmann.
“It should not be a closed institution, but a place that invites movement and encounters,” adds Lüsen’s mayor, Carmen Plaseller.
Vahrn’s mayor, Andreas Schatzer, explains: “We no longer want a hospital-like model of care. It should be a living community that also attracts people from outside.”
