Private residence

In the heart of Franciacorta, light becomes a silent tale of relationship and materiality
Amid the ordered geometries of the vineyards and the architectural memory of the built environment, a private residence is reimagined as a living, layered and sensitive organism.
The architectural intervention is grounded in a clear principle: to respect the preexisting without silencing the voice of the contemporary. Every new addition, be it a volume, a detail or an opening, is conceived to lightly touch the existing, never to overpower it. The project moves along the edge, speaking the language of subtractions, separations and controlled tensions.
The clean lines of the reveals, the iron walkway and the minimal openings, carefully calibrated in dialogue with historical elements, compose a formal vocabulary of balance and nuance, where every architectural gesture is clearly legible yet never intrusive.
Similarly, materiality becomes a fundamental part of the narrative: resin for its tactile continuity, exposed iron for its expressive honesty, natural wood and matte marmorino for their ability to bring authenticity and depth to the space. It is through this thoughtful and deliberate selection of materials that the project finds both its anchor in history and its new identity.
It is within this grammar of respect that light is introduced, shaping the spatial experience. The lighting design evolves in continuity with the architectural approach, guiding the transformation of the home into a place where the threshold between inside and outside becomes thin, inhabitable, permeable. The In Curved Air floor lamp, positioned in the poolside relaxation areas, generates intimate and suspended atmospheres; Flamingo wall lights and bollards elegantly outline the edges of green areas and pathways, suggesting movement without imposing it. Raygun spotlights create a dialogue between architecture and vegetation, composing visual episodes rich in depth and rhythm. Finally, the Airliner suspension defines the convivial heart of the outdoor kitchen, turning it into a true “open-air room.” Each lighting element has been chosen for its ability to honor the context and enhance the materiality. Natural and artificial light intertwine, narrating an architecture that changes with the hours, the seasons and human presence.
