Light as the language of nature

Built in the late 1980s, Villa Chiara is a project that still preserves its identity intact, thanks to the balance of its proportions, the coherence of its material choices and its deep sensitivity toward the natural context. The architecture establishes a constant dialogue with the surrounding environment, where light, vegetation and built space coexist in perfect harmony.
A distinctive element of the project is the embracing greenery, conceived as a filter of privacy and visual continuity with the landscape. The careful maintenance and management over time have preserved and enhanced the original spirit, keeping alive the harmony between architecture and nature.
In the recent outdoor lighting project, the goal was to recreate in the evening the same natural atmosphere that defines the site during the day. Through a refined use of light filtered by the vegetation, it was possible to ensure the usability of the spaces without introducing perceivable technical elements.
Thanks to the use of Raygun projectors, selected for their compact size, camouflaged finishes, and the option to integrate honeycomb filters, it was possible to achieve high visual comfort and a discreet, efficient and sustainable illumination. The use of low power levels and an optimized light distribution made it possible to enhance both the architecture and the landscape with minimal impact on the night environment.

The lighting intervention unfolds across different zones, calibrating the intensity and direction of light according to functions and desired visual perceptions. Perimeter and depth lighting is provided by Raygun 50 projectors, installed on spikes and directly attached to branches with special straps, allowing full integration into the vegetation and emphasizing its materiality. For the central and pedestrian pathway, Passo fixtures were used, oriented toward the perimeter to ensure perfect visibility without being visible from the house windows. Finally, from the steel beams with magnetic mounting, Raygun 35 projectors precisely illuminate the gathering areas, while Raygun 50 fixtures, again positioned among the branches, complete the scene with a diffuse, natural light. The project illuminates with restraint, integrating technology and environmental sensitivity in a composition that celebrates the relationship between architecture, nature and light.
