In the beating heart of Emilia, where history meets the modernity of engineering, light weaves itself into matter to tell a new vision

Along the river landscape accompanying the Reno valley, in Sasso Marconi, a structure rediscovers both its function and its beauty. The Leonardo da Vinci bridge, a strategic infrastructure along the historic Porrettana state road, has undergone a profound architectural and structural regeneration: not just a renewed route for mobility, but a contemporary gesture capable of dialoguing with the memory of the place.

Built with cutting-edge technologies and a careful engineering vision, the bridge today stands as a visual and symbolic landmark of the territory. And it is precisely in this renewed identity that light plays a central role. Platek contributed to enhancing the work with a measured and precise lighting intervention, capable of accompanying the structure, interpreting its shapes, and integrating with the surrounding environment. The Tetra floodlights, chosen for their technical reliability and essential design, become silent yet incisive narrative tools.

The lines of the deck are discreetly highlighted; the historic arches, preserved as a memory of the original construction, find new legibility at night. The light moves with the bridge, follows its rhythm, and enhances its design without altering the balance. The project stands out for a conscious and calibrated use of light, which returns to the infrastructure a safe and recognizable presence in the night landscape. The roadway and pedestrian paths emerge with clear visibility, offering comfort and orientation, but also atmosphere and identity. It is a light that accompanies without overwhelming, that underlines without imposing. A light that weaves itself into matter to transform the bridge into a distinctive symbol of the Reno valley, capable of uniting engineering, landscape, and perception.
