In the heart of the village center of Lajen, on a sloping site between the kindergarten, daycare center, and playground, a new fire station has been created, a public facility that integrates harmoniously and unobtrusively into the village fabric. It is sculpted from the existing topography and clearly separated from the green space behind it. The clear, solid architecture made of local exposed concrete symbolizes protection, reliability, and readiness for action. Horizontal walls follow the contours of the land, while the distinctive hose tower makes a striking urban design statement. All functions, from vehicle bays to common rooms, are efficiently organized underground. The building’s integration into the natural terrain allows the green roof to be used as a children's playground, adding a social dimension to the facility.

Thus, the fire station is far more than a utilitarian structure, it is a place of community, shaped by responsibility, clarity, and a strong connection to its location.

Mitten im Ortskern von Lajen, auf einem Hanggrundstück zwischen Kindergarten, Kita und Spielwiese, ist mit der neuen Feuerwehrhalle eine öffentliche Einrichtung geschaffen worden, die sich harmonisch und unaufdringlich in das Dorfgefüge einordnet, herausmodelliert aus der vorgefundenen Topografie, klar abgegrenzt zum dahinterliegenden Grünraum.

Die klare, massive Architektur aus lokalem Sichtbeton steht für Schutz, Verlässlichkeit und Einsatzbereitschaft. Horizontale Mauern folgen der Topografie, der markante Schlauchturm setzt ein städtebauliches Zeichen. Unterirdisch sind alle Funktionen effizient organisiert, von Fahrzeughallen bis zu Aufenthaltsräumen. Die Einbettung in die vorgefundene Topografie erlaubt es, das begrünte Dach als Kinderspielplatz zu nutzen, eine Einrichtung, die dem Gebäude eine zusätzliche gesellschaftliche Dimension verleiht. Die Feuerwehrhalle ist somit weit mehr als ein Zweckbau, sie ist ein Ort der Gemeinschaft, geprägt von Verantwortung, Klarheit und Ortsverbundenheit.
