Archiproducts Headquarters | storagemilano
Bari / Italy / 2025
The new Archiproducts headquarters is conceived as an extension of the company’s historic office, originally inaugurated in 2009. The new intervention adds 1,000 square metres to the existing 1,200 square metres, expanding and redefining the workplace while maintaining continuity with the original identity. Acquired in 2020, the building has undergone a major renovation process that culminated in the opening of the new spaces in 2025.
The project redefines the traditional concept of the workplace, interpreting the office as a shared home rather than a purely functional environment. This vision informed every design decision: from spatial layout to material selection, from lighting design to the discreet integration of technology.
A key architectural element connects the two levels of the headquarters: a theatre-style staircase in steel and wood, conceived as a multifunctional space rather than a simple circulation element. Designed to host the entire team during TGIF gatherings, internal presentations, product launches, and even film screenings, the staircase represents the beating heart of the headquarters, its most scenic and central space, where the collective dimension of Archiproducts fully emerges.
Approximately half of the total surface area is dedicated to large shared spaces, designed to encourage interaction and informal exchange. These include lunch areas with social tables, a fully equipped bar used for convivial moments and corporate events, and a relaxation area furnished with Molteni sofas, where people can browse a curated selection of international architecture and design magazines.
The workspaces are mainly organized as open-plan areas, complemented by fully glazed meeting rooms that can be visually screened with curtains when needed, as well as enclosed and comfortable pods for calls and phone conversations. Workstations are conceived as social tables, made of warm materials such as natural wood, fostering collaboration and openness. Technology is omnipresent yet invisible: cables, lighting fixtures and systems are integrated and concealed to preserve a clean, domestic atmosphere.
A large open space hosts approximately 80 workstations dedicated to the product editorial teams, responsible for the technical and descriptive content of the Archiproducts catalogue: product descriptions, images, BIM and Cad files, price lists, dimensions and specifications. Two more reserved and quieter areas accommodate the 30 IT developers, divided into two groups with the management team positioned at the center.
The project was developed in collaboration with several long-standing partners.
Samsung provided the climate control system, featuring 360° cassette units and an advanced monitoring and thermoregulation system that ensures maximum energy efficiency, reduced consumption and optimal thermal comfort throughout the building.
Flos designed the technical lighting, achieving exceptional visual comfort across both shared and work areas. Light sources are never directly visible and do not cause glare, while work and relaxation surfaces are evenly and pleasantly illuminated. The lighting system is fully automated and activated only in the presence of people.
The natural oak parquet flooring by Listone Giordano, installed in a head-to-head layout, enhances visual continuity and provides outstanding tactile and acoustic comfort.
Acoustic plasterboard ceilings by Knauf Italia, featuring micro-perforated panels with integrated sound-absorbing fabric, significantly improve acoustic comfort in the open spaces while creating compact, light-responsive surfaces.
Special attention was also given to the restrooms, designed as high-quality environments rather than purely technical spaces. Ceramic tiles by Mutina, from the collection designed by Konstantin Grcic, are combined with sanitary ware, washbasins and mirrors by NIC, and stainless-steel taps and accessories by CEA Design, resulting in spaces of high aesthetic and technological value. Lighting is once again automated and presence-based.
All custom-made furnishings – including desks, storage walls, meeting rooms and glazed partitions – were developed in collaboration with Main Contract, a long-term partner of Archiproducts based in Veneto.
The result is a headquarters that goes beyond the conventional idea of an office: an open, welcoming and shared environment, where architectural quality, comfort and efficiency coexist, fully reflecting the identity and culture of Archiproducts.
