The villa in the countryside, for over 2,000 years synonymous with living on a spacious plot of land, has always been an experimental laboratory under ideal conditions, but also a great challenge in dealing with the landscape.

The special responsibility associated with having the opportunity to work on such a plot of land was also paramount at PARKSIDE HOUSE.
The idea was to build a straightforward, single-storey bungalow for a family, and so we realised living and dwelling on one floor. Only building services and ancillary rooms, as well as a guest area, are located in the base level, which protrudes from the slope.

The rooms for day-to-day living, such as housekeeping area, kitchen and entrance hall, are oriented towards a paved square on the north side. The dining, living and library areas, along with the children’s play area, are arranged around the large terrace facing southwest, which is the main living space in the summer months, protected by the wide cantilevered roof.

All private rooms and bedrooms, on the other hand, are oriented towards the quiet east side. A modest, quiet and beautiful place to live has been created that serves everyday life perfectly – a piece of home, which embodies a refined functionalism — a cultivated objectivity where clarity, proportion, and elegance coexist in perfect harmony.

This architecture combines this precision with a deep sense of comfort, creating spaces defined by warm minimalism, tactile materials, and an atmosphere of understated luxury.
