NOT A HOTEL YUGAWARA | NOT A HOTEL

Only 90 minutes from Tokyo’s city center, Oku-Yugawara is a famous hot spring resort town with 1,300 years of history. NOT A HOTEL YUGAWARA is an architectural response to this setting, surrounded by the murmurs of the Fujiki River and the whispering of the trees in the mountain forest. The hotel will be designed by NOT A HOTEL's proud architectural team, NOT A HOTEL ARCHITECTS.

There will be two types of rooms available for ownership: YUAMI villas and MULTI-SUITE rooms. Both offer onsen, but the flagship VILLA rooms come equipped with three different private hot springs and four baths.

YUAMI VILLAS

For the YUAMI villa, the different levels of the floors are built along the land’s uneven terrain. As guests move from room to room, their sense of distance from nature gradually changes. The three overlapping roofs envelop these geographical elements and connect them as a single landscape.

There will be an open-air bath next to the infinity pool overlooking the river. A rock bath faces the courtyard, offering a sense of openness and serenity. The open-air bath is quietly nestled in a picturesque garden. The sauna is along a continuous path that continues with the rock bath, open-air bath, and pool.

The living/dining room has a large opening measuring approximately 17-meters wide that frames the outside like a picture scroll. The flickering light filtering in through the glass blocks evokes the presence of both cold and hot water, bringing a soft rhythm to the space.

YUGAWARA: MULTI-SUITE rooms

In a separate building from the VILLA type, NOT A HOTEL will also develop several suite-type houses that overlook the Fujiki River and allow guests to experience the nature of Yugawara.
