Corrigan Estudio is a built experiment: a hybrid space that explores new ways of inhabiting through matter, light, and environmental sensitivity.

Far from following a conventional functional or typological scheme, the project is formulated from an atmospheric question:

What if climatic and sensory conditions were the starting point of architectural design?

Here, architecture does not arise from the program or from use, but from the conditions that make presence possible.

It is not about defining rooms, but about regulating temperature, light, humidity, sound, and intimacy.

Only when these variables become explicit do limits appear. Division is not a starting point, but a physical consequence of an atmospheric need.

Each area demands a specific condition:

a greater degree of thermal enclosure, an acoustic requirement, a need for privacy, a concentration of humidity or indirect light.

From these premises, the space is modulated through a series of lightweight and porous materials:

metal meshes, which define without blocking; translucent polycarbonate, which filters light while preserving privacy;

textile curtains, which unfold or gather to control visual intimacy;

and natural vegetation, which does not decorate, but rather structures, filters, and regulates.

The project proposes a free-plan layout, where traditional divisions give way to a fluid and organic organization.

The system is articulated through a sequence of built volumes that organize the circulation, contain vegetation, and accommodate diverse uses.

A central translucent oval encloses the most intimate area, providing privacy without blocking natural light.

An autonomous volume replicates the same constructive logic of the whole. It is not defined by a specific use, but by its role as a social core, capable of supporting shared life.

Movable panels allow the configuration of rest or retreat areas, solving with a single gesture the needs for privacy, storage, and flexibility, while maintaining the overall openness.

These separations do not interrupt; they activate atmospheres.

They function as sensitive filters that define spaces according to what they require, not according to how they are named.

An automated irrigation system, governed by humidity sensors, ensures the stability of the plant ecosystem.

Perimetral concealed lighting, housed at the base of these volumes, casts shifting shadows that transform the perception of the space throughout the day.

Climate control via textile ducting distributes thermal and humidity comfort evenly, integrating technology as part of the space’s vital system.

Corrigan Estudio es un experimento construido: un espacio híbrido que ensaya nuevas formas de habitar desde la materia, la luz y la sensibilidad ambiental.

Lejos de partir de un esquema funcional o tipológico convencional, el proyecto se formula desde una pregunta atmosférica:

¿Y si las condiciones climáticas y sensoriales fueran el punto de partida del proyecto arquitectónico?

Aquí, la arquitectura no nace del programa ni del uso, sino de las condiciones que hacen posible estar. No se trata de definir estancias, sino de regular temperatura, luz, humedad, sonido e intimidad.

Solo cuando estas variables se hacen explícitas, aparecen los límites. La división no es punto de partida, sino consecuencia física de una necesidad atmosférica.

Cada zona reclama una condición precisa: Un grado mayor de recogimiento térmico, una exigencia acústica, una necesidad de privacidad, una concentración de humedad o luz indirecta.

A partir de estas premisas, el espacio se modula mediante una serie de materialidades ligeras y porosas: mallas metálicas, que permiten delimitar sin bloquear, policarbonato translúcido que filtra la luz manteniendo la privacidad, cortinas textiles, que despliegan o recogen la intimidad visual, y vegetación natural que no decora, sino que estructura, tamiza y regula.

El proyecto plantea una planta libre, donde las divisiones tradicionales desaparecen en favor de una organización fluida y orgánica.

El sistema se articula sobre una secuencia de volúmenes de obra que organizan los recorridos, contienen vegetación y alojan usos diversos.

Un óvalo central translúcido acoge la zona más íntima, proporcionando privacidad sin bloquear la luz natural. 

Un volumen autónomo que replica la misma lógica constructiva del conjunto. No se define por un uso, sino por su condición de núcleo social, capaz de sostener la vida compartida.

Paneles móviles permiten configurar zonas de descanso o recogimiento puntual, resolviendo con un único gesto las necesidades de privacidad, almacenamiento y flexibilidad, sin renunciar a la apertura del conjunto.

Estas separaciones no interrumpen: activan atmósferas. Funcionan como filtros sensibles que definen los espacios según lo que requieren, no según cómo se nombran.

Un sistema de riego automatizado, gobernado por sensores de humedad, garantiza la estabilidad del ecosistema vegetal. La iluminación perimetral oculta, alojada en la base de estos cuerpos, proyecta sombras cambiantes que transforman la percepción del espacio a lo largo del día.

La climatización por conducto textil distribuye de forma homogénea el confort térmico y la humedad, integrando la tecnología como parte del sistema vital del espacio.

Corrigan Estudio no se define como vivienda, estudio ni alojamiento.

Es un ensayo sobre cómo delimitar sin dividir, construir sin aislar y habitar sin etiquetar.

Un espacio que escucha, interpreta y responde a las condiciones necesarias para vivir.
