In 1939, FLW designed the original version of this house for Edith Carlson to be built in Superior, Michigan, that he called “Below Zero” It wasn’t built.
In 1941 he created another version for Roy Peterson to be built in Racine, Wisconsin. Again, it was not built.
In 1946 he designed a larger version of this design for William R. Slater. It has two more bedrooms and a bathroom in a wing attached to the side of the original plan. This house was also not built.
In 1979 Taliesin Associated Architects developed a 4th version of the house based on the original smaller floor plan for Frederick Haddock. The design was finally built in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
