It is in this stretch of lake, among its different pasts and its lost original function, that one recognizes a kind of time outside of history, in which the individual who contemplates it becomes sensitive, as if it helped him to understand the duration of time flowing within. In this place, time and instant. Geometries divide the external world from the intimate and private space of the house. The portico marks this passage between inside and outside, sheltering a portion of water within the uncontrollable current of the lake and the air at the windward point. Only a heavy material can stand with the force of this place. Thus liquid concrete was poured into wooden formwork to become hard as stone, taking on forms that were conceived and traced. The presumption of controlling the sunlight is contradicted by the reflections of the waters, by the shadows of the trees, and by the movements of the air that continuously shifts the clouds. A site where the force of nature always prevails and where history lies sedimented beneath a thick layer — the sails of the comballi resting on the bed of Lake Como bear witness to a memory of the past.

É in questo pezzo di lago, fra i suoi differenti passati e la perduta funzionalità originaria, che si riconosce una sorta di tempo al di fuori della storia, nella quale l’individuo che la contempla diviene sensibile come se lo aiutasse a comprendere la durata di tempo che scorre in lui. In questo luogo, tempo e istante. Le geometrie dividono il mondo esterno dallo spazio della casa intimo e privato. Il portico segna questo passaggio tra dentro e fuori, custodendo una porzione d’acqua nell’incontrollata corrente del lago e dell’aria della zona punta spartivento. Solo un materiale pesante può stare con questa forza di questo luogo. così il cemento liquido è stato versato in casseformi di legno per divenire duro come la pietra assumendo forme pensate e tracciate. La presunzione di controllare la luce del sole viene smentita dai riflessi delle acque, dalle ombre degli alberi e dai movimenti dell’aria che muove le nuvole continuamente. Un sito dove la forza della natura predomina sempre e dove la storia è sedimentata sotto uno spesso strato di coltre, possono le vele dei comballi adagiati sul fondale del Lario a testimoniare la memoria passata.
