Casa Guadalupe represents HANGHAR’s commitment to a contemporary form of housing grounded in industrialized construction, capable of combining efficiency, sustainability, and material quality without losing its connection to the Asturian landscape.

From a typological standpoint, the house is rooted in the local context through two figures that are deeply embedded in Asturian territory: the agricultural shed and the casa mariñana. In a suburban environment that is in fact more rural than residential, these typologies continue to organize the territory, its scale, and the way plots are occupied. Casa Guadalupe draws from them its clear volumetric logic, its direct relationship to the ground and the climate, and a restrained way of building, all reinterpreted through a contemporary language and a dry, prefabricated construction system.

The house is fully fabricated in a workshop, allowing for precise control over both finishes and production timelines. It was transported by semi-trailers and assembled on site in a very short time: the main structure was in place within 48 hours. This process significantly reduced construction time compared to conventional building, limited the impact on the site, and demonstrated that industrialized systems can achieve a high level of construction quality.

The building’s placement on the plot responds to the irregularity of the ground and to the intention of touching the land as lightly as possible. For this reason, the house is raised on a system of piers that adapts to the existing topography, minimizes earthwork, and preserves the natural condition of the site. Material selection follows criteria of constructive efficiency, durability, and thermal performance in a humid and variable climate. The building is resolved through a lightweight steel structure, a ventilated façade with sandwich panels, an insulated air cavity, and a corrugated metal roof, forming a coherent, efficient system that is easily controlled during fabrication.

Through this technical approach, Casa Guadalupe proposes a different way of understanding prefabricated housing: not as a standardized product, but as a flexible system capable of producing architecture with character, spatial quality, and a precise relationship to its surroundings. The project offers a viable alternative to traditional methods, one that is faster, more controlled, and more easily replicated, aligned with current demands for sustainable, well-built housing.

The execution of the house confirms that prefabrication can be a rigorous and effective design tool, where industrialization coexists with careful detailing, attention to place, and a thoughtful architectural sensibility.

Casa Guadalupe representa la apuesta de HANGHAR por una vivienda contemporánea construida desde la industrialización, capaz de combinar eficiencia, sostenibilidad y calidad material sin perder vínculo con el paisaje asturiano.

Desde el punto de vista tipológico, la vivienda se ancla al contexto local a través de dos figuras muy presentes en el paisaje asturiano: el galpón agrícola y la casa mariñana. En un entorno suburbano que es, en realidad, más rural que residencial, estas tipologías siguen siendo las que estructuran el territorio, la escala y la forma de ocupar la parcela. Casa Guadalupe toma de ellas la claridad volumétrica, la relación directa con el suelo y el clima y una manera sobria de construir, reinterpretadas mediante un lenguaje contemporáneo y una construcción en seco.

La casa se fabrica íntegramente en taller, lo que permite un control preciso tanto de los acabados como de los tiempos de producción. El transporte se realizó mediante camiones tráiler y el montaje en parcela fue especialmente rápido: en apenas 48 horas la estructura principal quedó instalada. Este procedimiento redujo de forma notable los plazos de obra respecto a una construcción convencional, limitó las afecciones sobre el entorno y demostró que es posible trabajar con sistemas industrializados sin renunciar a una alta calidad constructiva.

La implantación en la parcela responde a la irregularidad del firme y a la voluntad de tocar el terreno lo mínimo posible. Por este motivo, la casa se apoya sobre un sistema de pilares que permite adaptarse a la topografía existente, reducir los movimientos de tierra y preservar la condición natural del lugar. La elección de materiales obedece a criterios de optimización constructiva, durabilidad y buen comportamiento térmico en un clima húmedo y variable. La vivienda se resuelve mediante una estructura metálica ligera, fachada ventilada con panel sándwich, cámara de aire aislada y una cubierta de chapa minionda, configurando un sistema coherente, eficiente y fácilmente controlable en proceso de fabricación.

A través de esta lógica técnica, Casa Guadalupe plantea una manera distinta de entender la vivienda prefabricada: no como un producto estándar, sino como un sistema flexible capaz de generar arquitectura con carácter, calidad espacial y una relación precisa con su entorno. El proyecto propone así una alternativa viable a los métodos tradicionales, más ágil, controlada y replicable, ajustada a las necesidades actuales de vivienda sostenible y bien construida. 

La ejecución de la casa confirma que la prefabricación puede ser una herramienta útil y rigurosa para proyectar, donde la industrialización convive con el cuidado del detalle, la atención al lugar y una mirada arquitectónica atenta.
