The Factory | McLaren.Excell
London / United Kingdom / 2021
The Factory was a project focused on the transformation of a previously developed industrial space into a bold, urban living environment. The project was driven by an ambitious client seeking a dramatic and unapologetic design that embraces the site’s industrial roots. Key to the approach was the careful exposure of the original structure, allowing the building’s history to remain visible and celebrated. Complementing this, a refined palette of new materials was selected to harmonise with the existing fabric, creating a cohesive and respectful contrast. The design also features a collection of bespoke furniture and lighting pieces—such as a dining table, pendants, wall sconce, coffee table, and entrance bench—each crafted in collaboration with local artisans, adding a layer of authenticity and uniqueness to the space.
