CASA DI FLAVIA | EMPATE studio

For Flavia’s house we designed a light and slender staircase, with the intention of giving back space to the living area while creating a functional and sculptural element capable of coexisting harmoniously with the surrounding space. The staircase becomes not only a connection between the different levels of the house, but also an architectural gesture that defines the room and interacts with the natural light that characterizes the home.

The staircase is entirely made of folded sheet metal lacquered in white, with tubular elements forming the handrail and the central pillar. The choice of materials and construction emphasizes visual lightness and formal continuity. The project follows a custom approach: every detail was specifically designed and developed to fit the proportions of the space and the needs of the house, aiming to achieve a balance between aesthetics, functionality and construction precision.

The intervention was not limited to the staircase, but involved several areas of the house through a series of targeted actions aimed at improving both the aesthetics and the functionality of the spaces. Through careful choices of connections, materials and color, the project seeks to establish continuity between the different environments, enhancing the strong natural brightness of the house and its visual relationship with the sea.

Further interventions were therefore carried out in the bathrooms, the bedroom and the kitchen, introducing bespoke elements and design solutions that integrate with the character of the home. In this way, each space contributes to building a coherent language in which the staircase remains the main compositional focus, while engaging in dialogue with a series of details and custom interventions that reinforce the overall identity of the house.
