Casa Kaab Ka'an | Estudio Paulina Villa Arquitectura

Nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the lagoon, the residence offers the best of both worlds. The fusion of these environments provides unique experiences, from sunrises over the sea to serene sunsets over the lagoon. This is further enhanced by the placement of the pools: one on the ground floor, like an oasis in the middle of the jungle, and the rooftop pool with panoramic views. Casa Kaab Ka'an is a project that operates almost autonomously. Functionality was key during the design, leading to the implementation of an electrical power system comprised of a gasoline generator, a wind turbine, and automated solar panels. In addition, four cisterns in the basement guarantee an accessible water supply in case of environmental emergencies. A wetland system for wastewater treatment demonstrates the commitment to sustainability and minimal environmental impact.
