A complete renovation of a 74 m. apartment in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The volumes, layout and circulation have been entirely rethought. The apartment now comprises an open plan living and dining area connected to the kitchen, two bedrooms each with its own en-suite shower room, and a separate WC. Upon entering, a glazed partition creates a visual connection with the space beyond. It sits where the former bathroom entrance used to be, now transformed into the kitchen, allowing natural light to penetrate deeper into the plan.

The existing living and dining rooms were swapped, and the passage between the two was widened to create a more generous and fluid circulation. Walls and ceilings were painted white at the clients' request, letting the parquet flooring, furniture and lighting bring warmth and colour to the space. The kitchen and bathroom were also swapped. A large opening was created in the load-bearing wall so the kitchen could open onto the dining area and, by extension, the living room. A custom island was designed with an oak veneer base featuring three fluted facades carved by hand with a gouge. An aged mirror panel applied to the side of the tall units softens their presence and visually enlarges the space. In the private quarters, one bedroom benefits from a direct en-suite shower room, whose entrance can be concealed by a curtain or left open to allow additional natural light. A mirror with a central wall sconce visually expands this compact space. The second bedroom also has its own shower room, accessible from the hallway.
