Simplicity · Boundlessness | Taizhou Benmo Space Design Co
Linhai / China / 2025
Centered on the core concept of Simplicity · Boundlessness, this design advocates breaking the physical and psychological boundaries of functional zones on the basis of a minimalist and neat spatial foundation, and building a living space for family interaction, physical and mental repose, and future adaptation. Adhering to the aesthetic concept of Less is More, it uses concise forms to carry rich life experiences, allowing residents to return to their true selves in a complicated world and regain in-depth connections with space, family and themselves.
The overall layout adopts the strategy of Openness + Flexible Separation. The living and dining room on the first floor is fully connected with the staircase area, with rigid partitions removed to form a core interactive zone of LDK + Staircase. Family members can communicate naturally while cooking, dining and resting, letting the bond of family flow in the open space. For the bedrooms, study and other zones on the second floor, flexible separation is achieved through the variation of cabinetry and materials, which not only ensures privacy but also maintains the spatial integrity through visual connection. As a vertical spatial link, the staircase features a floating design with glass guardrails, which weakens physical barriers, strengthens the spatial interaction between the upper and lower floors, restructures the spatial order of traditional house types, and turns the home into an organic and interactive living community.
Material selection abides by the principles of environmental protection and innovation. The floor is largely paved with earth-tone matte ceramic tiles, which boast the properties of wear resistance and seamless splicing, reducing material waste and dirt accumulation in gaps, and conforming to the concept of resource conservation. The walls are mainly finished with low-VOC light beige artistic paint, creating a soft atmosphere and safeguarding residential health. Wooden elements (such as staircase steps and wooden beams in the living and dining room) adopt reclaimed solid wood, endowing the space with natural warmth and practicing wood recycling. Ultra-clear tempered glass is used for the glass guardrails, which is transparent and light, innovating the spatial visual experience. Meanwhile, it reduces the material consumption of solid partitions and contributes to the low-carbon goal.
Proceeding from the users' needs, the cabinetry adopts a handleless invisible design to avoid the hidden danger of collision. The combination of open grids and display areas can exhibit family photos and handcrafts, preserving precious life memories. The curved treatment of bedroom bed heads and the layout of soft lighting create a warm sleeping atmosphere, making design a carrier for conveying happiness.
Elastic interfaces are reserved in functional zones. For example, the study cabinetry can be transformed into storage for the children's play area, the bedroom chandeliers support intelligent dimming and scene linkage, and the space under the staircase can be expanded into a smart home central control zone. These designs adapt to future changes in family structure and technological upgrading, endow the space with sustainable growing vitality, and explore a more forward-looking residential model.
This design shapes a boundless life with a minimalist and neat form. Integrating humanistic care, environmental protection and a forward-looking vision from concept to practice, it strives to create an ideal living space for residents that not only has the warm happiness of the present but also adapts to life in the future.
