Canali Los Angeles Flagship Store | Park
Los Angeles / United States / 2025
Park has designed Canali’s new flagship store in Los Angeles, a project that completely redefines the aesthetics, interior layout, and façades of one of the brand’s most iconic boutiques worldwide. Following New York, Beijing, and Milan, the concept developed by Park for Canali finds a new interpretation between Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, in the heart of Beverly Hills, further strengthening the connection between Italian craftsmanship and contemporary international culture.
The project embodies Canali’s founding values – excellence, elegance, and harmony– translating them into a sophisticated and cohesive space where interior and exterior engage in a natural and seamless dialogue.
The flagship store is organized around two distinct entrances. On Wilshire Boulevard, the main façade takes on a bold, monumental presence, defined by pilasters clad in Italian seminato with Verde Alpi marble inserts and a light architectural skin of champagne-colored micro-perforated metal sheeting. The result evokes a contemporary drape that resonates with Los Angeles’ natural light, creating shifting plays of shadow and reflection.
The entrance on Rodeo Drive, by contrast, adopts a more intimate and precious language, welcoming visitors into a luminous, enclosed environment that serves as a prelude to the discovery of an unexpectedly generous interior.
Inside, the two main areas are conceived as double-height volumes, flooded with natural light thanks to the transparency of the large shop windows and their visual continuity with the outside. Between these spaces are the back-of-house areas, fitting rooms, and a lounge located at the heart of the boutique: a private, refined setting clad in warm-toned wood boiserie, concealing an “Italian-style” bar designed to offer an authentic, immersive Canali experience. Above the lounge, a mezzanine hosts the tailoring area—the operational heart of the store and a symbolic place celebrating the brand’s sartorial heritage.
The project reaffirms Park’s constant focus on materials and artisanal craftsmanship, translating the language of bespoke menswear into an architectural environment rich in detail and contrast. Italian seminato flooring dialogues with hydro-sculpted marble surfaces that shimmer and come alive depending on the angle of the light. Studs applied to the wooden wall panels, placed meticulously by hand one by one, recall the repetitive gestures of tailoring, paying tribute to precision and the unhurried rhythm of craftsmanship.
Technology is expressed through a dynamic lighting system: suspended rings set at varying heights and a modular magnetic track allow for ever-changing lighting scenarios, adaptable to displays and seasonal collections. Custom-designed display furnishings are fully reconfigurable to meet the needs of the exhibition space; shelves and hanging systems can be freely rearranged, making the environment fluid and in constant transformation.
The Los Angeles boutique represents a fully realized synthesis of the Canali project: a place where architecture, fashion, and the art of hospitality converge in a coherent, understated narrative. A space of representation for a brand whose identity is defined by restraint and artisanal excellence.
Park is an interdisciplinary collective of architects, designers, and researchers, united by the desire to shape the future of the built environment. Founded in Milan in 2000 by Filippo Pagliani and Michele Rossi, the studio operates across architectural, urban design, landscape, interior, and product design, championing a cross-cutting approach. Every project developed by Park takes shape within its specific context — from the Lombardy Region skyscraper to the Luxottica and Salewa headquarters, from residential and commercial spaces to the renovation of iconic modern buildings and entire neighborhoods.
Park immerses itself in the deep richness of each design opportunity, to uncover its inherent identity and deliver a transformative vision. One that’s new, unique and coherent in all its elements. Operating at the intersection between tradition and innovation, the studio excels at reinterpreting and regenerating cities to become new models of liveability and sustainability, using adaptive reuse as a core strategy. The collective looks far ahead, anticipating the full impact of its architecture. By doing so, Park gives form to a multitude of experiences, researches and perspectives, striving to enrich lives and foster a new bond between people, places and planet. Park has won numerous awards, including the Premio Architetto Italiano 2024 granted by the Consiglio Nazionale degli Architetti Pianificatori Paesaggisti e Conservatori.
