Lève Office Bar | Studio Fabio Fantolino

Fabio Fantolino presents Lève Office Bar in Turin, a space that draws inspiration from office imagery and transforms it into a contemporary, fluid, and layered bar environment, designed to guide guests differently throughout the day.

Overlooking a garden in the city center, the venue creates a sophisticated atmosphere through a carefully crafted material and color language. References to the 1960s go beyond mere citation, becoming an integral part of the design. It was during that decade that office interiors placed particular emphasis on composition and material quality—a legacy reinterpreted here through chrome-plated metal, stainless steel, reflective surfaces, and bold colors, generating a precise system of reflections and contrasts. Fabio Fantolino translates this heritage into a contemporary vision, achieving a balance between rigor and hospitality, comfort and design precision. Every material and color choice, along with the custom furniture designed by the architect, to enhance the perception of the space, making Lève Office Bar a carefully articulated project where the guest experience unfolds naturally through interaction with the environment.

The space is organized into three distinct areas, conceived as functional and perceptual sequences. The first room is defined by a long stainless steel counter running the length of the space, emerging at the back in deep red enamel. The custom design by Fabio Fantolino is both minimal and striking, allowing a transformation of use: seamless during the day, the counter opens in the evening to serve as a cocktail station. On the floor, a herringbone pattern in brick tones introduces a homely element, softening the tension between reflective surfaces and saturated colors.

The second room, arranged over double height, more directly evokes the office world. On the lower level, the interplay of cool materials (stainless steel, chrome, mirrors) and warm elements such as wood and leather creates a harmonious balance between rigor and comfort. The green resin floor acts as a continuous color field, clearly defining the character of the space.

On the upper level, the theme is further expressed typologically: small sofas with leather seats and bouclé-covered backs are arranged as light partitions, recalling the open-plan layout of American offices. A red wood and laminate boiserie, highlighted with thin metal trims, frames the room and reinforces its rhythm.

The lighting design is fully integrated with the architecture, contributing to the spatial identity. In the double-height room, a luminous grid defines the ceiling of the lower level, amplifying the dialogue with reflective surfaces. On the upper level, a sequence of retro-style pendant lamps accompanies the table arrangement, emphasizing rhythm and geometry. Complementing this system is the careful selection of lighting fixtures as design elements: on the counter, the Ipoli 06 by Lambert & Fils introduces a clean graphic gesture, while at the cashier, the Maija by Santa & Cole provides softer, atmospheric light. The system is completed by the Ipoli 01 by Lambert & Fils, reinforcing the formal coherence of the project.

Fabio Fantolino firma il progetto di Lève Office Bar a Torino, uno spazio che riprende l’immaginario dell’ufficio traducendolo in un ambiente bar contemporaneo, fluido e stratificato, capace di accompagnare gli ospiti in maniera differente durante i diversi momenti della giornata.

Affacciato su un giardino nel centro città, il locale costruisce un’atmosfera sofisticata attraverso un linguaggio materico e cromatico, in cui il riferimento agli anni Sessanta non si esaurisce nella citazione, ma diventa struttura progettuale. È in quel decennio, infatti, che l’interior per uffici sviluppa una particolare attenzione alla composizione e alla qualità dei materiali: un’eredità che qui viene reinterpretata attraverso metallo cromato, acciaio inox, superfici specchianti e colori pieni, generando un sistema calibrato di riflessi e contrasti. Fabio Fantolino interpreta questa eredità trasferendola in chiave contemporanea, creando un equilibrio tra rigore e accoglienza, tra comfort e precisione compositiva. Ogni scelta materica e cromatica, insieme ai mobili custom realizzati su disegno del progettista, sono studiati per valorizzare la qualità percettiva dello spazio, trasformando Lève Office Bar in un progetto articolato, in cui l’esperienza degli ospiti si evolve naturalmente nell’interazione con l’ambiente.

Lo spazio si organizza in tre ambienti distinti, concepiti come sequenze funzionali e percettive. La prima sala è definita da un lungo bancone in acciaio inox che attraversa l’intero ambiente, emergendo sul fondo in smalto rosso intenso. Il disegno, realizzato su misura da Fabio Fantolino, è essenziale e d’impatto, e consente una trasformazione d’uso: compatto durante il giorno, il banco si apre nella dimensione serale diventando cocktail station. A terra, la posa a spina di pesce in tonalità mattone introduce una componente più domestica, mitigando la tensione tra superfici riflettenti e colori saturi.

La seconda sala, articolata su doppia altezza, esplicita in modo più diretto il rimando al mondo dell’ufficio. Al livello inferiore, la dialettica tra materiali freddi (acciaio inox, cromature, specchi) ed elementi caldi come legno e pelle costruisce un equilibrio tra rigore e comfort. Il pavimento in resina verde agisce come campo cromatico continuo, definendo con decisione il carattere dello spazio.

Al piano superiore, il tema viene ulteriormente traslato in chiave tipologica: i divanetti, con seduta in pelle e schienale rivestito in bouclé, sono disposti come partizioni leggere, evocando gli open space degli uffici americani. Una boiserie in legno e laminato rosso, ritmata da sottili inserti metallici, incornicia l’ambiente e ne rafforza la scansione.

Il progetto illuminotecnico si integra pienamente nell’architettura, contribuendo alla costruzione dell’identità spaziale. Nella sala a doppia altezza, una griglia luminosa definisce il soffitto del piano inferiore, amplificando il dialogo con le superfici riflettenti; al livello superiore, una sequenza di lampade a sospensione dal carattere rétro accompagna la disposizione dei tavoli, sottolineando ritmo e geometria. A questo sistema si affianca la selezione dei corpi illuminanti, scelti come veri e propri elementi di arredo: sul bancone, la Ipoli 06 di Lambert & Fils introduce un segno grafico essenziale, mentre in cassa la Maija di Santa & Cole diffonde una luce più morbida e atmosferica. Completa il sistema la presenza della Ipoli 01 di Lambert & Fils, che rafforza la coerenza formale dell’intervento.
